All purchases don’t attract an interest charge. If the current balance is zero, cardholders have a grace period of up to 50 days within which they can make the payment for retail purchases. However, for cash withdrawal transactions, there is an interest charge from the date of the transaction till the payment date. In addition, cardholders also need to pay a transaction fee for cash withdrawal transactions.
Interest charges and Late Payment charges are applicable, if the minimum due amount is not paid by the due date. Overlimit charges are applicable if the total outstanding dues on the credit card exceeds the assigned credit limit.
The grace period is only available on retail transactions if there is no outstanding amount payable on the Credit Card. In case there is some outstanding amount that you need to pay, all fresh purchases will attract interest from the date of purchase.
The interest on the outstanding amount is calculated on a daily basis. If the total amount is not paid off by the due date, interest will be levied on the total amount. All fees, charges, interest and GST s also attract interest. An interest of 3.83% per month will be levied (46% per annum).
