System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Allows the app to draw the PIN or Pattern lock screen directly on top of other secured applications when they are opened, preventing unauthorized access until the correct code is entered.
2) File Vault & Storage Management (Media Vault)
Manage External Storage (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required on Android 11 and above to perform full operations on files across the device, allowing the app to move, encrypt, hide, and restore private images and videos in the secure vault.
Read & Write External Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): We use this on Android 10 and below to read media files from your device galleries for select-to-hide actions and to restore files back to public storage when you unhide them.
3) Background Monitoring & Persistence (Auto-Start & Services)
Receive Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Allows the app to restart the AppLock background monitoring service automatically when the device is rebooted, ensuring your apps remain protected without needing to open the app manually.
Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): Enables the app to run the monitoring system continuously in the background, ensuring the app detector is active and ready to lock apps instantly.
4) Notifications
Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used on Android 13 and above to display the persistent status notification that keeps the background monitor service active and informs you that AppLock is currently running.
5) Ad Serving & Network Diagnostics
Internet & Network Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): We use this to check network connectivity status and load configuration data or advertising blocks within the application.
We integrate services from other companies (third-party SDKs) to support development and features, including:
