TechHQ ("we", "us", or "our") provides New Year Countdown ("the App") to count down to New Year and other festivals around the world, show clocks and home-screen widgets, send countdown reminders, and create greeting cards. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
The App does not require an account. Countdowns, clocks, and widgets are calculated on your device from the device clock and your selected time zone.
The App stores preferences locally, such as followed festivals, clock style, theme, language-related display options, 12/24-hour format, selected time zone, reminder settings, sound and haptic feedback settings, unlocked themes or templates, recent searches, hints shown, notification prompt state, and rating prompt history. Greeting cards you create are also stored locally on your device.
These local settings and cards may be included in Android's device backup or device-to-device transfer if you have enabled backup on your device. Such backups are handled by Google/Android under your own account settings.
The App does not access your contacts, messages, call history, phone number, photos, or files other than images it saves for you. The App does not request location permission. Advertising services may estimate your approximate location from your IP address, as described below.
Internet (INTERNET): Used to support advertising, analytics, and crash reporting. The countdown itself works without a connection.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Lets the App show countdown reminders you turn on. You may deny or revoke this permission; reminders will then not be shown.
Alarms & reminders (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Lets reminders fire at the exact time (for example, at midnight). If you do not allow it, the App uses less precise timing.
Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Re-schedules your reminders and keeps widgets up to date after the device restarts or the time or time zone changes.
Storage (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 9 and older only): Used only to save greeting card images you choose to save to your gallery. On newer Android versions no storage permission is needed.
Vibration / haptic feedback: Provides optional haptic feedback, which you can turn off in the App.
Advertising ID: Google advertising and analytics components may access the device's advertising identifier when available and permitted by your settings.
The App includes Google services that process information outside your device:
Google AdMob: Shows banner, interstitial, app-open, and rewarded ads. Rewarded ads let you unlock certain themes or card templates. AdMob collects information such as IP address, advertising or other device identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic data to deliver and measure advertisements and prevent fraud. IP addresses may be used to estimate approximate location. Ad personalization depends on applicable settings and consent choices.
Google Analytics for Firebase: Collects app usage events, app instance identifiers, and device and app information to help us understand usage and improve the App.
Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports, stack traces, installation identifiers, and device and app information to help diagnose reliability problems.
Google User Messaging Platform: Processes privacy choices and consent-related information to present and manage advertising privacy messages where applicable.
These identifiers are not necessarily anonymous. The information processed by these services depends on their configuration, your device settings, and applicable privacy choices.

When you save a greeting card, the App writes the image to your device's gallery. When you share a card, the App passes the image to the app you choose through Android's share sheet. We do not receive the cards you create or share; the receiving app handles them under its own terms and privacy policy.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the information you include, and use them to respond and investigate your request.
Information is processed by the Google services described above for advertising, analytics, diagnostics, and consent management. Support messages are also handled by the email service used for support. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information we hold when legally required or when necessary to protect users, our rights, or the security of our services.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their privacy terms and applicable safeguards.
Local preferences and saved cards remain until you delete them, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Images saved to your gallery remain until you delete them there. Data processed by Google is retained according to the relevant service's policies and configured retention settings. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle your request and meet applicable obligations.
You can:
Turn reminders, sound, and haptic feedback on or off within the App.
Revoke the notification or alarms & reminders permission in Android's app settings.
Clear local App data through Android Settings or uninstall the App.
Revisit advertising privacy choices using the App's advertising privacy option when it is available.
Manage advertising identifiers and personalization through your Android or Google privacy settings; available controls vary by device and Android version.
Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law.
Advertising privacy choices do not automatically switch off Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics. The App currently has no separate in-app switch for those services. We may need information to identify records relevant to a privacy request; we may be unable to associate device-based records with your email address.
We use the protections provided by Android and the integrated service providers to help protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
The App is a general-audience app and is not designed specifically for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
The App may open Google Play, Android settings, the share sheet, an email application, or external websites. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App or our data practices. Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
