The image shows the companies old organisational structure, which was implemented by Steve Jobs. 'In the past, Steve Jobs CEO would undertake all of the strategic management decisions'(MEYER,2019) showing more of an authoritarian leadership style. However, under Tim Cook’s leadership, the structure has slightly changed. Under Tim Cook’s leadership, the company now has more collaboration between different departments. Thus, Tim Cook’s leadership can be seen as a Participate type, encouraging the involvement of team members. The companies vice presidents have more independence and are not dictated as they were under Steve Jobs leadership. Thus, changing the companies organisational structure creating more freedom and collaboration between departments, producing a more efficient output.
Both leaderships incorporate product-based divisions as part of their organisational structure. However, Steve Jobs would focus on one product at a time and disregard the rest. This can be seen with the introduction of the iPhone, which has phased out the iPod. Due to Tim Cooks collaborative leadership, each department gets properly cared for, by department leaders.

Employees compete for performance rewards thus making them self-efficient.

In 2010 the company paid $275m to acquire Quattro Wireless a mobile advertising company, enabling them to compete with Google in this industry. The company now plans to launch a second advertising slot within the App Store, located within the “suggested” apps area which appeals to advertisers after the privacy changes were introduced.

Angela was the former CEO of Burberry for eight years before joining Apple, she helped to turn Apple’s retail stores into stylish showcases, for the introduction of the companies’ expensive products. Deirdre O’Brien Apple’s, vice president of human resources took on the role of senior vice president of retail. Apple has various partnerships, such as IBM who help the company to target the global business market by ‘bringing digital transformation to the world’s largest companies. (Apple, 2021). When it comes to changes, the company is now looking to ‘create partnerships in Alternative Payments Ecosystem’ (Pastore, 2021). Enabling Apple to penetrate the payment market and allowing them to avoid credit risk on their balance sheet. Apple already has Apple Pay which is one of the most used sources of contactless payment in the world, now along with the Apple Card, the partnership is a logical move.
