Privacy Policy

AppKey Compass is a browser extension developed to assist mobile app publishers, developers, and researchers with keyword analysis for the Amazon Appstore. We prioritize your privacy and operate under a client-side architecture with zero trackers, advertisements, or analytics.

1. Data Stored Locally

All data generated or saved during your research remains stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local):

• Saved Keyword Lists: Custom lists and categories created by the user.

• Search History: Recent seed queries entered into the search bar.

• Preferences: User UI settings, default search sources, and provider preferences.

• Cache: Temporary query cache to speed up repeated queries, automatically pruned over time.

None of this information is synced across devices or transmitted to developer-managed databases.

2. Third-Party Network Communications

Network requests occur solely to fetch keyword suggestions when explicitly requested by user actions:

• Amazon Autocomplete: Default queries are sent to Amazon's public US suggestion endpoint (completion.amazon.com) for the Apps & Games category.

• Google Autocomplete: If chosen in extension settings, queries are sent to Google's public suggestion endpoint (suggestqueries.google.com).

• Optional Search Volume API: If you supply ASE credentials in settings, searches query the ASE API (ase-api.azure-api.net) to retrieve volume, competition, and trend estimates.

• Custom Backend: If you configure a custom server URL, requests are sent only to the URL you provide.

3. Webpage Interactions

• Amazon Shopping Pages: The extension displays a compact keyword suggestion bar adjacent to search inputs on supported storefronts. It only inspects search terms to show relevant suggestions.

• Amazon Developer Console: The extension provides an independent research drawer on developer.amazon.com. It does not inspect, modify, or transmit your app listing forms, credentials, or private console data.

Limited Use Certification: We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. Data is never used for advertising, marketing, or creditworthiness evaluation.

4. User Data Control & Deletion

You have full autonomy over your data at any time:

• Clear your cache and search history with one click in the extension's Settings tab.

• Delete individual keywords or entire saved lists.

• Uninstalling the extension instantly and permanently deletes all extension storage from your browser.
