Determines how the images are sized. Valid values: "ICON", "ICON_PLUS", "TINY", "EXTRA_SMALL", "SMALL", "SMALL_PLUS", "MEDIUM" (default), "MEDIUM_PLUS", "LARGE", "LARGE_PLUS", "EXTRA_LARGE", "FIT", "GALLERY".

Event Timelines (Timeline, Events): Use the event timeline pattern to display a dated list of events and actions in chronological order. This pattern uses a combination of cards, rich text, and user images to show an easy to navigate list of dated events.

Use the "Standard" image style to preserve the natural aspect ratio of icons and photographs. For example, if an image is twice as wide as it is tall, it will always be shown as a rectangle. Standard style images are never distorted or cropped.

Use the "Avatar" style to show images as a circular shape. Portions of images that fall outside of the circle will not be visible. If the source image does not have a square aspect ratio (its width and height are not the same), part of the image will be cropped and only the center portion of the image will be visible.

Use the "Gallery" size to display grouped collections of images. This setting generally results in a consistent height for displayed images (even if their aspect ratios differ) so that the group lines up evenly. Very wide images will be shown with a shorter height in order to constrain their overall size.

"Avatar" style images always fill a circular frame whose diameter is determined by the size configuration. Small source images will be stretched to fill the frame. This means that all avatar images with the same size setting will be rendered at exactly the same size on-screen.

Icons, logos, and other images that consist of simple shapes generally look best when rendered from uncompressed files, such as those saved in the PNG format. Vector graphics (Appian supports the SVG file format) often provide the best balance between file size and display quality for these types of images.

Can you give an example of which template / pattern you're referring to? I don't believe any of the images are actually stored in Appian - the only examples I know of for pattern images are just sourced from an external website that has external images (like in this pattern).

Like the title says I'm wondering if there is any sort of workaround where you could display text and images in the same grid column. Essentially, I need to combine a a!gridTextColumn() and a a!gridImageColumn(). I know this is possible for editable grids, but is there any way to do this for non-editable grids? An example image is provided below.

The importance of saving document images in Appian is immense. It provides a secure, centralized repository for all document needs, replacing stacks of paper and endless computer searches. Quickly find any document image with Appian. Streamline workflows and increase efficiency!

I'm trying to dynamically insert images into a word document using the "MS Word 2007 Doc from Template" Smart Service. The images are uploaded via an interface "FileUpload" component and saved into a rule input configured as text and a constant configured to save into a folder (see image below).

In my research I've seen a lot of references to the "Advanced Document Template" plug in, but it looks like if I were to use that at this point I would have to redo a lot of my previous work. So if there's a way to insert images without using that plug in, in particular using WordML, I would appreciate any suggestions y'all have.

All works well if we pass dynamic images in the Smart Service Data Inputs Images as "={logo: cons!ADT_Images}" (where cons!ADT_Images is an array of documents that exist in our Appian document repository)

I haven't played around with this fully yet, but in one or two cases where we've had to attach images in HTML templates I know we've uploaded the image to our server directly (typically a logo used in the template, etc), then included the full server URL to the image. We are on prem however, and are likely better solutions out there..
