Welcome to Expense Tracker. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal and financial data. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles your information. 

Expense Tracker is designed as a "Local-First" application, meaning your financial records stay with you, and we do not store them on our own servers.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a complete experience, the app may collect the following information:

Personal Information: Name, email address, and profile picture (only when you sign in using Google).

Financial Data: Income, expenses, transactions, account balances, budgets, and savings targets.

Media: Profile images selected by you from your gallery or captured via camera.

3. How We Use Your Data

Authentication: Your Google account is used only to identify you and enable backup features.

Financial Management: All financial data is used to provide analytics, reports, and budget tracking within the app.

Backup & Restore: If enabled, your data is uploaded to your personal Google Drive account to allow data recovery.

4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: By default, all your financial data is stored securely in a local database (SQLite) on your mobile device.

No Developer Servers: We do not have any external servers. We cannot see, read, or access your financial transactions.

Google Drive Security: When you use the backup feature, data is stored in a hidden "App Data" folder on your Google Drive, which is only accessible by this app.

5. Google API Disclosure

Expense Tracker uses Google Drive APIs for backup and restore functionality.

The app only accesses files created by it.

We do not access your private photos, documents, or other files on Google Drive.

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Service User Data Policy.

6. Permissions Required

To function correctly, the app requests the following permissions:

Camera & Gallery: To let you set a custom profile picture.

Notifications (Android 13+): To alert you when a PDF report is generated or a backup is completed.

Storage (External Storage): To save generated PDF reports and read profile images.

7. Data Deletion Policy

We believe you should have full control over your data:

In-App Deletion: You can delete any transaction or account within the app at any time.

Full Reset: You can clear all data by using the "Clear Data" option in Android settings or by uninstalling the app.

Google Drive Backup Deletion: You can delete your backup at any time through the app or by removing the app's access in your Google Account security settings.

Request Deletion: If you wish to request the deletion of any data associated with your Google Sign-In, please contact us at rudramzari@gmail.com.

8. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal or financial information with any third parties. Your data is never used for advertising or tracking purposes.
