Appalachian Dungeon Fest is a legitimately one-of-its-kind gathering rooted in live dungeon synth and fantasy music, imagined as a communal, ritual-tinged escape from the modern world. For one weekend, ADF invites you far beyond the borders of the familiar and into the ancient mountains of Central Appalachia for a shared experience of community, nature, and of course, synths.
This is a deliberately intimate event, welcoming travelers who feel called to step off the paved road and into something slower, stranger, and more liberating. Every artist performing at ADF either directly represents Appalachia or creates work that resonates with Appalachian spirit—through music, environmental reverence, folklore, or ethos. This is not just another DS event...this is something else.
Getting here is part of the journey. This event is intentionally not located near metropolitan centers or major transit hubs. The distance, the winding roads, the quiet—they are features, not obstacles. Think of ADF as a dungeon Summer camp in the mountains: a place to camp, wander, listen, lounge, swim, converse, and simply be in the company of the truest of the true.
ADF is not about profit, hype, or clout. It is not a party-first festival, nor a conventional commercial event. Participation can be active or passive, so long as it is rooted in respect: respect for the land, for the music, and for one another. Tickets are made to be affordable and there is no additional charge for camping. This event is purely for the love of the game. Due to the spotty and unlikely nature of continued internet access at the event, it is highly unlikely this will be streamed. We will try to record sets for later upload, but in-person attendance is strongly encouraged. Much of what makes this event truly special cannot be captured in a thumbnail or Twitch frame.
This is a quest. Plan accordingly, come prepared, and meet us beyond the edge of the map.
