I am pleased to say school is off to a terrific start! Our attendance is up and classrooms are filled with students already hard at work growing as learners.
We’re sending our October newsletter home early so you know about Back To School Night. We hope you will be able to join us online next Thursday, September 28th, at 6 pm to meet your students’ teachers and hear about their exciting plans for the year. This is a new event for us and part of our commitment to partnering with you to support your student’s education.

Queridas familias,
¡Me complace decir que la escuela ha tenido un excelente comienzo! Nuestra asistencia ha aumentado y las aulas están llenas de estudiantes que ya están trabajando duro para crecer como aprendices.
Enviaremos nuestro boletín de octubre a casa temprano para que estén informados sobre la Noche de Regreso a Clases. Esperamos que pueda unirse a nosotros en línea el próximo jueves 28 de septiembre a las 6 pm para conocer a los maestros de sus alumnos y conocer sus emocionantes planes para el año. Este es un evento nuevo para nosotros y parte de nuestro compromiso de asociarnos con usted para apoyar la educación de sus estudiantes.

Parent Portal
Please be sure to click here to register for the city's new Parent Portal. You will need your student's OSIS number to register. If you have any issues, please reach out to our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Williams, here at the school
Trip to Italy
Ms. Castillo is organizing a trip to Italy for APPA students this April! We are hoping to make this the first of many international trips for the students at APPA. To guarantee a spot for your child, enroll now:

Fall Festival DAY
Please join us for APPAs annual Fall Festival on October 20th. Families are welcome to join us in the Courtyard for food, games, and fun beginning at 2:00 pm.
Play a Varsity Sport
APPA offers 14 high school sports for students to participate in! Please see this link for details on how to join a team!
Parent Association
Please join us for the next parent association meeting, October 18th at 6 pm.
Sign Up for YMCA After School Program
APPA's middle school after school program, run by the YMCA, is free of charge and a terrific way to futher support your student. The program is available for all APPA students in grades 6-8. It runs every day after school from 2:50 to 6:00 pm. Students will participate in enrichment activites, acadmic support, art, STEM, and lots more. They even get a snack!

Back to School Fair
Students in Grades 6-9 had fun this month at our Back to School Fair. Thank you to the YMCA for Sponsoring the event!
Uniform Clarification
Please remember all middle school students must come to school in uniform:
Kahki/Dark Slacks
Black Polo Shirt
Black or Blue crew next sweatshirt.
Students may not wear coats or non-APPA hoodies to class or lunch. Uniforms are available at our online store, but need not be purchased there.
