Dear Families,
Happy December! You should know that we have a number of really wonderful things scheduled for your students this month. Thanks to a grant we secured, all students in grades 6-10 are receiving a wrapped holiday gift. Students completed a wish list for the presents and all gifts were secured up to a $30 value! Students will be getting the gifts on Friday, December 20th, which is the last day before the break.
In the meantime, we have already started "Ten Days of APPA Cheer". Every student here in the morning gets small treat, snack, or candy each day when they arrive. It's our way of encouraging being on time and starting student's day off with a smile. APPA Cheer continues through the first days of the new year, encouraging students to be here on time when we come back in January too!
Finally, the last day before the Winter Break, December 20th, is also our annual APPA-Bration. All students will be able to enjoy a Dessert Buffet before our Holiday Pep Rally -- where the faculty basketball team will be looking for revenge against the student teams!

Queridas familias,
¡Feliz diciembre! Debes saber que tenemos una serie de cosas realmente maravillosas programadas para tus estudiantes este mes. Gracias a una subvención que obtuvimos, todos los estudiantes de 6.º a 10.º grado recibirán un regalo navideño envuelto. ¡Los estudiantes completaron una lista de deseos para los regalos y todos los obsequios obtuvieron un valor de hasta $30! Los estudiantes recibirán los regalos el viernes 20 de diciembre, que es el último día antes del receso.
Mientras tanto, ya hemos iniciado "Diez Días de APPA Cheer". Todos los estudiantes aquí por la mañana reciben pequeños obsequios, refrigerios o dulces cada día cuando llegan. Es nuestra manera de fomentar la puntualidad y empezar el día libre del estudiante con una sonrisa. ¡APPA Cheer continúa durante los primeros días del nuevo año, animando a los estudiantes a llegar a tiempo cuando regresemos en enero también!
Finalmente, el último día antes de las vacaciones de invierno, el 20 de diciembre, también es nuestra APPA-Bration anual. Todos los estudiantes podrán disfrutar de un buffet de postres antes de nuestro Holiday Pep Rally, ¡donde el equipo de baloncesto de la facultad buscará venganza contra los equipos de estudiantes!

Once again this year we hosted a huge feast for students the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Among other things, 50 Gourmet Apple and Pumpkin pies were donated from Aux Delice Bakery in Greenwich, CT. The students had a great time!

This Saturday, December 14th the Castle Hill YMCA branch will be hosting a free gift giveaway and winter supply event for the community.
This Saturday, December 14th the Castle Hill YMCA branch will be hosting a free gift giveaway and winter supply event for the community.
From 11am – 12pm on Saturday, we encourage families to stop by the branch to “shop” for free gift items and winter supplies for each youth/teen in the household. Gifts includes various toys, games and gift cards. Winter clothing items includes coats, hats, socks and under garments. There will also be free gift wrapping available for anyone who is interested.

Many students are working to improve their attendance. To help them, we are rewarding students coming regularly for doing the right thing!

- Students with 90% attendance in December will be invited to a milk and cookies reception on January 2nd!
- Students with the most improved students and students with the best attendance will receive a free APPA Hoodie on the last day before the Holiday Break!!!
