Edit: Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll look into pkgj and download some games. I also realised I didnt have ITLS_Enso installed and that's why the PSN store wasn't working. Rookie error I guess.

Hi Jason...My daughter set up a store on the 14 day trial and worked really hard in getting her store set up. But the day before yesterday, she was unable to log into her admin and the website has completely disappeared. It just says "something went wrong. This store is not available" She's been waiting for Shopify to resolved it since yesterday but they have not contacted her. When something like this happens, can the site be restored? We think it may have been hacked.

I got an email from Etsy (looked legit) that suspicious activity was noted in my account. My account activity was suspended until I changed my password. I doublechecked on my phone app that indeed my store was suspended and it was. So I changed my password, set up two factor, logged back in with the new password, and my store is completely gone. when I log it to the sellers app it says there is no store associated with my email. When I search my store name, nothing comes up. I've even searched for unique items I had in my store.....nothing. What happened? I reached out via email earlier today but have heard nothing.

Never-ever click on a link within an email, even if it looks safe. Always use a browser and manually log-in to the site (not via the app or email) and check your account for anything suspicious. If something does not look right, immediately contact Etsy and all your financial companies (bank / cc / PayPal, etc.) so they can set up a security block. I don't understand how so many Etsy accounts are getting hacked, even those with 2FA enabled ... makes me wonder how stable Etsy really is with all these new policy changes happening.

If you provided both those items prepare yourself for the long haul, it could be months before being restored at all and you will come back to a store with no money, bad ratings and many angry customers. Don't mean to get you down, its just the reality and its best to know.

Contacting your bank protects nothing.. If the person cant see their store when they login its because they already changed the email address. Stop trying to login and call support and supply the original email address to get the one they changed it to frozen. This is the only way to stop the process in its tracks.

While I was trying to access my web store, PHP parse error displayed pointing to a file with a syntax error. It was recently modified and saw an iframe inside it. It is an init.php file belong to one of 3rd party addons. Then realized that all php files for the 2 addons that I have are infected (btw, these addons belong to the same developer). This is the injected code:

I was always thinking that a server with good conf and complex passwords will never be compromised. Is this not correct? Is it true that any store can be hacked by an experienced hacker regardless of the security procedures applied?

It will also be wise to backup the hacked version of CS-Cart to be able to follow the trace during the investigation. If you just delete and reinstall, the problem will not be revealed and the store will be breached again in the future.

If infection is in only 1 developer's addon, you might check the archive source to see if perchance it was distributed with the malicious code (I.e. the developer was hacked). I'm assuming you have privately contacted the developer to advise them of the issue just in case it's a problem on their end. Either way, the developer should be notified just in case there is some vulnerability in what they distributed (either the injected code itself or some other vulnerability).

Just for your info... my server was compromized because of a bad server conf related to our FTP accounts. We did a mistake during Server Setup. The reason why the files of certain addons were hacked is because those third party addons' files were owned by the account which was hacked. This has enabled the attacker to change only those files.

Go down to Support specialists - then click Selling on Etsy - then click your Etsy account - then my account was hacked and then you will have a further three options, use either My password was changed or My email was changed to report the issue, include the url of the hacked account.

I have found 3 shops TODAY alone with that exact verbiage saying Discount when you purchase from our site or when you go the the listings it says do not purchase from our etsy go to this website. When I looked up those websites they seem to be a scam. Under one review in Google a shop owner said they hacked her account and listed their own things. They all seem to be svg/t-shirt designs. I reported 2 shops today and as I keep searching for designs I keep finding more. I don't want Etsy to think I'm on a reporting binge but man this is getting crazy. When you look at the "last updated" dates they have all seem to have been hacked in the past 2 weeks. I hope Etsy is going to do something about this for these shop owners.

@PerfectShadesCreates yes your right as Im sure that web address showing on the account is the same one that was on another account that got hacked last week, and if it is i would advice not to click on it just incase!

@daisysjewellerygifts yep! HeritageKnitting1 is another. And you can tell how most of them have been hacked because they've been selling one thing for so long and then sometime in June everything switched to SVG/PNG files. So I seriously hope Etsy cracks down on that.

removing it is one thing, but i preventing it to come back ? netgear must have some kind of backdoor to our NAS that has been hacked because it could be something obvious that give root privilege. don't think it's a ssh with user root and password "netgear" but could be simple as that.

One thing extra that I will pass along.... when I first started looking into the HDDs churning, I thought the Stora was hacked into from the outside and my files were being copied to who knows where. However, when I unplugged the network cable between it and my router, the churning continued. So, figured none of my file data was moving across the wire up to the internet. Next thing I did was look at the log on my Netgear R8500 router (under Advanced > Administration). There I found many, many attempts to ssh into the Stora from IP addresses from across the internet (nothing on my local network). I had found another post while researching this that indicated the UPnP configuration that "makes access to the Stora faster" (whatever) is a big security hole. So, looking on my router under Advanced > Advanced Setup > UPnP, sure enough... there was a UPnP Portmap configuration entry for the IP address of my Stora. I disabled UPnP on my router, then after rebooting the router, have not since had the ssh attacks from the internet on my Stora. (Hoping this is the root cause of how this all started.)

A week later, on Sept. 7, the home improvement store confirmed the hack, but the brand didn't email customers about the data breach until Sept. 21, when Home Depot once again confirmed the hack and offered customers 12 months of fraud detection services.

It's still unclear what information was stolen, if any, and to what scale, but Whole Foods noted that the breach didn't affect all of Whole Foods, just "certain venues such as taprooms and full table-service restaurants located within some stores."

On the first day of April, security firm Gemini Advisory revealed that cybercrime syndicate Fin7 hacked Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks Off Fifth, and Lord & Taylor, stealing credit and debit card data from approximately 5 million customers between May 2017 - April 2018.

Shopify ensures that merchants and consumers are safe by requiring each store to be PCI compliant automatically. Shopify, however, is a third-party merchant. The responsibility of safeguarding your shop lies with both Shopify and you, the seller.

A few notable examples of large ecommerce businesses being hacked include SweetLegs, a leggings enterprise using WooCommerce that went bankrupt after losing six figures in sales during a Black Friday data breach.

About 1 month ago, I see my app (xap file) hacked and published on too many sites that distribute XAP for windows phone 8, if you download the XAP from windows store, you can't unzip it's content, but When I download the xap from hacked sites, I can unzip and refactor the code! and the app bypass windows store then the user can use it without paying its price!

As we also discussed, your customers will start losing trust in you. Over time, your reputation will go downhill and people will stop buying from you. Website security is essential to maintain a long-term, good reputation as a WooCommerce store.

Malware blacklists keep track of malicious websites so users can be warned before accessing a malicious site. If your website was hacked for long enough, these blacklists will identify your website as malicious.
