Super congrats to Francesco because of his professorship!! Ad maiora!

74th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry officially started on Sep 3rd 2023. Prof. Santamaria has been co-organizer of Symposium 9 (Integrated electrocatalyst and electrode engineering for sustainable electrochemical processes).

Francesco delivered an Invited Talk for Symposium 8 titled "The effect of electronic properties of anodized and hard anodized Ti and Ti6Al4V on their reactivity in Simulated Body Fluid". Andrea gave a talk titled "Functionalized Cathodic Porous Electrodes for Zero Gap Water Alkaline Electrolyzers" and Claudio gave a talk titled "H2 production and biomass valorization in PGM-free photoelectrochemical cells by glycerol photo-oxidation", both for Symposium 9.

Great conference in Lyon and great food, sharing time and experiences with long and short-time friends!

Francesco and Davide have attended "Italian Days of Corrosion and Protection" GNC 2023 Conference held in Torino, July 5-7th 2023. Francesco gave a plenary lecture titled "Influence on Corrosion Resistance of the Electronic Properties of Passive Films on Stainless Steels for Food and Pharmaceutical Industries". Davide gave an oral presentation titled "Enhancement of bioactivity of Ti6Al4V alloys through electrochemical processes".

Prof. Santamaria and Francesco have attended 9th Aluminum Surface Science & Technology (ASST) Symposium held in Stockholm, Sweden, May 21-25, 2023, at Vår Gård Saltsjöbaden. Prof. Santamaria was also part of the Scientific Committee and gave an oral presentation titled "Enhancing Corrosion Resistance of anodized AA7075 alloys by Electrodeposition of Superhydrophobic Coatings". Francesco gave an oral presentation titled "Effects of anodizing surface treatment on the mechanical strength of aluminum alloy 5083 to fiber reinforced composites adhesive joints". Conference was great, meeting some long-time friends of the anodizing community!

Prof. Santamaria has been elected as President of the Electrochemistry Division of Italian Chemical Society for the period 2023-2025. Directory Board will comprise also Riccardo Ruffo (UniMib), Sabrina Antonello (UniPd), Giuseppina Meligrana (PoliTo), Giovanni Valenti (UniBo) and Maria Assunta Navarra (UniRoma - Sapienza). Vincenzo Verro, Nicola Ingargiola, Barbara Seminara (co-advised) and Valentina Maria Volanti (co-advised with PoliTo) are the new Ph.D. students of the research group. Good luck for your path in the next 3 years!!

73rd Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (Online) officially started on Sep 12nd 2022. Prof. Santamaria and Francesco are co-organizers of Symposium 16 (Corrosion, Surface Characterization and Electrochemical Analytical Techniques, Division 4, Electrochemical Materials Science) and Symposium 17 (Versatilizing Electrodeposition , Division 4, Electrochemical Materials Science), respectively.

Francesco is also going to deliver an Invited Talk for Symposium 16 titled "Improvement of bioactivity of Ti-6Al-4V by anodizing and post-anodizing processes".

Prof. Santamaria has been elected as Treasurer of International Society of Electrochemistry for the period 2023-2025. In the same elections, Prof. Plamen Atanassov has been elected as President Elect of the Society for the period 2023-2028 and Prof. Shelley Minteer has been elected as Vice President for the period 2023-2025.
