Feel free to use the lens however you think is best, but here are a few helpful suggestions. #apologize2america
Use the “I” first person tense when issuing the apology
Consider addressing one or a couple of specific events, phrases, etc to apologize for as opposed to generalized statements. The following resources may may help you find a specific instance to work with
TRY to keep each apology to under 30 seconds. You can make/submit as many apologies as you like, but in general shorter videos (think tick tock, snap chat, etc) are easier to watch then longer ones
This isn’t about being him. This is about you and what you wish Trump did/said/believed. While you may be digitally embodying the Trump, do not feel the need to modulate your voice, speech or other form of expression to impersonate him.
Shoot against a blank background, such as an empty wall. Avoid busy backgrounds when possible.
Record in a relatively quiet space to avoid background sounds which can be distracting. Quieter spaces will also help make sure that we can hear your voice clearly when recording.
Keep the pin that says “Apologize to America” within the frame if possible to provide future viewers with some context.
Remove glasses, jewelry, or anything else that may be distracting in the face, hair, or neck area.
Use #apologize2america, or #Trumpology if also posting on your own social media accounts
Your submission will be published to the project website as part of our A2A archive via the youtube channel, Apologize2America!
