So far it's been a mixed season at the halfway point of the 19/20 league season.
Men's 6 and Mixed have both had outstanding starts with both teams winning all but one fixture this season.
Mixed
The mixed in particular are in contention to win the mixed league, which would be our first non-4s top division title win.
The team have had a great start already beating perennial title favourites Pearl away 6-3.
The first pair of Stuart (Libs) Cook and Chloe Sidwell have a 100% record winning all of their rubbers so far.
Ed Pearson/Ondine Seamer and Paul Hubbard/Danielle Pont have also had a successful start, with 4th pair of Dan Gammons/Lorraine Fowler stepping in to great effect in the games they have played.
Best of luck for the upcoming matches all!
Mens 6
It has also been a successful first half for the Mens 6 team playing in division 2 for the first time in several seasons, having won all games bar one so far.
Having a settled team has now doubt helped and good luck to the team for the second half of the season.
So far the pairs have been Ed Pearson/Dan Gammons, Luke Runacres/Dave Stapleton and Scott Neil/Stephen Coupland
Mens 4
Both of the Mens 4 teams, have found the going tough, with the first team currently 4th in the table but out of relegation danger at this stage. Ed Pearson/Dan Gammons and Dave Stapleton/Luke Runacres have put in some good performances without necessarily getting the results.
Good luck for the rest of the seasons guys.
Mens 4 2 have endured a tough season with the first four away games being away games with plastics and no wins registered. However the rest of the games this season will give home advantage with feathers, the first of these against Whaplode Drove yielded the first win of the season 6-0, so hopefully this will start an upturn in fortunes.

So far the league season has proven to be a very tough one for all of Apollo's teams in the Hunts & Peterborough league, but finally the first victory of the season was claimed by the mixed team in Division One with a great display at home to Spalding.
Congratulations go to the players who managed to carve out an 8-1 victory at Werrington Sports Centre during a hectic Friday evening's play.
A fine captains innings by Ed Pearson and his partner Ondine Addison brought home 3 victories out of 3.
Also scoring maximum points were Dave Stapleton and Chloe Sidwell who put on a classy performance.
A hard earned 2 out of 3 wins also to Paul Hubbard and Dani Pont.
Well done all, hopefully more wins to follow!
The club will be using feather shuttles now exclusively this season, for a much better quality experience!

Morning everyone!!
The first team in the Mens fours in division 2 played out a title decider last night against 2nd in the table Sawtry away at One Leisure.
While the competition was very strong they went away and won 6-0!! This was a very tough match against a strong Sawtry side, and while the scoreline appeared emphatic the games were often very tough and closely fought just as they had been at Werrington earlier in the season.
The first rubber was a marathon affair finally finishing in Apollo's favour 22-24 24-22 28-30!!
Congratulations to all that have played over the season, the line up for last night was Ed Pearson, David Cooper, Stephen Coupland and Luke Runacres. Well done guys!
