Apolele is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Hellenic Armed Forces, Greek Coast Guard, Hellenic Navy, Hellenic Air Force, or any Greek governmental or military entity. This is an independent, unofficial application designed to help Greek military personnel track their service progress.
This Privacy Policy explains how Apolele ("we", "us", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By using Apolele, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
The following information is entered by you and stored only on your device. We do NOT collect, access, or transmit this data to any server:

This data never leaves your device. We cannot access it, and it is not transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Anonymous analytics data is used to:

Other apps cannot access Apolele's data

Anonymous analytics and crash data are stored by:
Firebase Analytics: Retained for 14 months (Google's standard retention)
Firebase Crashlytics: Retained for 90 days (Google's standard retention)
Google Play Billing: Purchase records retained per Google's policies
These services operate under Google's infrastructure and security measures.
Your military service records, personal information, and equipment data are never shared because they never leave your device.

Delete individual items: Remove specific duties, penalties, vacations, or notes through the App
Clear app data: Android Settings > Apps > Apolele > Storage > Clear Data
Uninstall the App: Removes all data from your device
Delete backups: Manually delete backup files from your storage
Effect of deletion:
Immediate and permanent removal from your device
Cannot be recovered unless you have a backup file
Calendar events created by Apolele remain (delete manually if desired)
Retention periods:
Firebase Analytics: 14 months
Firebase Crashlytics: 90 days
Google Play purchase records: Per Google's retention policies
Deletion:
Analytics data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you

While the App is rated for ages 3+ on Google Play (standard rating for utility apps), Apolele is intended for adults aged 18 and over who are serving in the Greek military.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18:
The App is designed for military service tracking (18+ activity)
We do not market to children
Anonymous analytics cannot identify age
If we learn a child under 18 has provided information, we will delete it
If you are a parent and believe your child has used this App, you can:

The App is a native Android application and does not use web cookies.
Firebase SDKs use mobile equivalents to cookies:

These are managed by Google's SDKs and follow Google's privacy policies.
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights:
You have the right to know what personal information is collected. We collect no personal information on our servers. Only anonymous analytics data is collected.
You can request deletion of your information. Since your data is local, delete it directly from your device.
You can opt-out of data sales. We do not sell personal information.

If you enable calendar sync, the App requests permission to:
Read your calendars (to check for existing events)
Write to your calendars (to create military events)
When calendar sync is enabled:
Events are created in your device's local calendar
Event data includes titles, dates, descriptions (in Greek)
Events sync to your Google Calendar if configured
You control which event types sync (duties, penalties, vacations, notes)
Calendar events are stored locally on your device
If you sync your device calendar with Google Calendar, Google's privacy policy applies
You can disable calendar sync at any time in app settings
Deleting the App does NOT delete calendar events (delete manually if desired)
Backup files (.xlsx format) contain:
All your profile information
All service records (duties, penalties, vacations, notes)
Equipment information
Purchase status
Complete snapshot of your Apolele data
Your responsibility:
Backup files are in readable format (Excel spreadsheet)
Store backup files securely
Do not share backups publicly (they contain sensitive information)
Delete old backups when no longer needed
Encrypt backups if storing in cloud services
We do not:
Have access to your backup files
Store backups on our servers
Automatically upload backups anywhere
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

New features or functionality
Legal or regulatory requirements
User feedback and concerns
When we make significant changes:
Update the "Last Updated" date at the top
Notify users through app updates
Display in-app notifications for material changes
Post the updated policy in the App and online
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to changes, stop using the App and delete your data.
