Administrative Politics Network

We build a network of scholars whose work focuses on administrative politics, broadly construed. We study how administrative rules and procedures, as parts of broader policy governance, function as hidden distributive or political tools, and how groups and individuals influence, or fail to influence, these policy processes. We aim to bring together work spanning administrative law, interest group politics, policy feedback, and administrative burden.

Our first unofficial gathering will be at APSA 2026 in Boston (September 5, 3–6 p.m. ET). 

This meeting is co-organized by Jae Yeon Kim, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at UNC–Chapel Hill, and Maraam A. Dwidar, Assistant Professor of Government at Georgetown. Our gathering is supported by Joe Soss, the inaugural Cowles Chair for the Study of Public Service at the University of Minnesota.
