Privacy Policy — Apna Khaata

Apna Khaata provides a paperless e-billing mobile application that allows users to create, store, and manage digital bills.

We do not process payments, do not act as a payment gateway, do not provide merchant services, and do not facilitate or mediate any financial transaction between buyers and sellers.

Apna Khaata is only a billing and record-keeping tool, not an e-commerce platform.

Users make payments to merchants/sellers independently, outside the app, entirely at their own responsibility and understanding.

2. Important Payment Disclaimer

• Apna Khaata does not handle money, does not collect or transfer funds, and does not verify any buyer or seller.

• Apna Khaata never asks for debit/credit card details, bank details, UPI IDs, or wallet information.

• Any payment between a buyer and seller happens outside the app, through their own preferred method (cash, UPI, wallet, bank transfer, etc.).

• Apna Khaata is not liable for any financial loss, dispute, fraud, or misunderstanding between buyers and sellers.

• Apna Khaata is not a payment intermediary under any financial regulations.

3. Information We Collect

a. Account & business info

• Business name

• Contact email

• Phone number (if provided)

• GSTIN (if user enters it)

b. Invoice data

User-entered data such as:

• Invoice number, date

• Item descriptions, quantities, prices, tax amounts

• Customer name/contact (if added by the user)

(This data is used only for generating bills. It is not used for any financial transaction processing.)

c. Device & usage data

• Crash logs

• Performance analytics (if enabled)

d. Optional backups (user-controlled)

If a user manually enables backup, invoice data is stored encrypted on [cloud provider name].

4. How We Use Data

• To create, store, and display invoices

• To generate PDFs/CSVs

• To send invoices via email or generate QR codes

• To provide optional backup and restore features

• To improve app stability and performance (analytics; opt-out available)

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

• We do not sell, trade, or rent user data.

• Limited sharing occurs only with third-party service providers required for:

• Cloud backup

• Email sending

• Analytics

• All third parties are contractually bound to use data only for app functionality.

• We may disclose information only if required by law.

6. Data Retention & Security

• User data is stored until the user deletes it or deletes their account.

• All invoice and business data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

• Access to stored data is restricted to authorized systems.

7. User Rights

Users can:

• Request access to their stored data

• Request corrections

• Request deletion

• Manage analytics and backup permissions within the app
