Professor York studied at The Academy of Distinguish Educators from New York University. for Clinical Teaching. Quondam Clinical Assistant Professor from the University of New York. She earned her Ph.D. in Lasers in Periodontology, preceded by a Master of Science Degree awarded in Biophysics and Bio-Cellular Technology. She serves on the Board of Editors of the International Phototherapy Association in Japan, and she is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. As a Clinical Assistant Professor to the Cariology and Comprehensive Care Department of New York University., She has enjoyed a lively and productive clinical teaching rapport with students and a collegial and supportive relationship with colleagues. Professor York conducted clinical research trials, converting theoretical speculation into delivered, evidence-based photo bio modulation PBM treatment. She presented her findings both as an author in peer-review journals and as a lecturer at conferences throughout the world. Awarded the prize for Best Research Paper at the Laser Florence Conference in 2002 and 2015 of the International Academy of Laser Medicine and Surgery. She is as well an awarded artist painter of glass and a pianist.

She is serving now as the President of the European Medical Laser Association & as a Professor Honoris Causa PMS College in India, Kerala Trivandrum, where she put the basis of a Diploma Course in Lasers in Medicine.

Her training in Cellular Technology and as well in Gene Therapy lead her to study and investigate biotechnology and PBM ever since 32 years ago
