Founded by Maeve Neckel in January 2026, every handcrafted plate I create is donated to Henry Street Settlement.
The shame of poverty can devastate a person just as much as having nothing to eat or nowhere to sleep. Homelessness strips people of their identity, leaving them feeling invisible, powerless, and forgotten (Joseph Rowntree Foundation, 2024).
Art allows people to rediscover their unique perspectives and talents, reinforcing that they are more than their current circumstances (Schwan et al., 2018). A hand-built object made specifically and uniquely for someone is an object of hope: you have something that belongs only to you. Someone saw you. You are worth someone's time and hands and care.
Henry Street Settlement serves over 50,000 New Yorkers every year through programs like after-school education, job training, mental health services, and shelter for survivors of domestic violence. They rely on individual donations to keep these programs running. Your contribution, no matter the size, helps make sure those doors stay open for the people who need them most.
