Taipei is one of Asia's most amazing hidden gems, with unmatched culinary delights, magnificent temples and mountains, busy night markets and a vibrant nightlife. It is one of the most interesting cities you can visit, truly Taiwan is 'The Heart of Asia', as the tourism bureau says! With the famous Taipei 101 Building and dozens of other recommended places to see downtown in Taipei, there's plenty of great day trips around Taiwan which easy to do if you're based in Taipei during your stay. Tamsui, famous for its riverfront and amazing sunsets, is located in New Taipei City just north of the Main City, is easily reached along the Taipei Metro Red Line MRT, the last stop on the line going north from Taipei Main Station. In October, Tamsui District in New Taipei City, Taiwan, experiences pleasant autumn weather.
Average high temperatures range from 23°C to 26°C (74°F to 79°F), with lows between 22°C and 23°C (72°F to 74°F). Rainfall decreases compared to the summer months, making it an ideal time for travel.

By Metro-- Taoyuan MRT: There are several ways to get to Taipei City/New Taipei City from Taoyuan Airport. Most people opt for the Taoyuan Airport MRT Link to Taipei Main Station, which is the fastest way to get into downtown, at 40 minutes by the Express Airport MRT. The cost one-way is 150NTD, about 4.50USD. If you intend to book a hotel in Tamsui, it is recommended to take the Red Line MRT from Taipei Main Station to Tamsui. Taipei Main Station to Tamsui is approximately 40 minutes. There will by taxis available right in front of Tamsui MRT Station. Taiwan also has Uber available.
For a Taxi from the airport direct to Tamsui: just go to the public taxi stand at the airport. The drivers are quite honest and usually always turn on the meter. Travel time to Tamsui, depending on time of day and traffic, can take 60-90 minutes. Prices are approximately 1,200NTD, about 35USD.
