Call for papers

We encourage the submission of original contributions on user interfaces providing explanations in a personalised and/or adaptive way. We intend personalisation as different content displayed according to different user profiles, and adaptivity as a change in the way content is presented as the user profile or context changes.

The specific goal is to open and continue the interdisciplinary discussion among researchers about the need to develop user interfaces that reflect the demands of different types of users of the same system, going beyond the classic one-fits-all paradigm where interfaces are designed for one specific set of users at a time.

Paper submission

We solicit the submission of two forms of contributions:

  • Regular papers: following the guidelines of this year's call for papers of the main conference, there is no page limit and no formal distinction between short and long papers; we expect the paper length to be commensurate with the contribution.

  • Position papers: max. 5 pages (excluding references).

Papers should be formatted in the new ACM single-column format, following the official templates:

Submission site: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=apexui2022

Submitted papers must not be under review in any other conference, workshop or journal at the time of submission.

All submitted papers will be evaluated by at least two members of the program committee through a single-blind peer-review process, based on their originality, technical quality, clarity and relevance to the workshop. Accepted papers will be published as open access joint workshop proceedings via CEUR-WS.org.

Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present their work during the workshop, and at least one author of each accepted paper must register for and attend the workshop.
