Account Registration: When creating an account or signing in via Google, we collect your display name, username, email address, profile avatar, and bio.
User-Generated Content: Videos, photos, audio recordings, captions, comments, likes, bookmarks, and chat messages you create, upload, or send.
Support Inquiries: Any communications, feedback, or reports you submit to our support team.
Information Collected Automatically:
Device Diagnostics: Device model, operating system version, crash reports, and performance metrics to help us maintain application stability.
Push Notification Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens required to deliver notifications for messages, comments, and account activity.
Apex requests access to specific device features to enable core app functionality. These permissions are only accessed when actively initiated by you:
Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA): Required to record videos and take photos directly within the app for posts and profile pictures.
Microphone Permission (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO): Required to capture audio while recording video posts.
Storage and Media Permission (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO): Required to pick images and video files from your device gallery to upload as posts or avatars.
Notification Permission (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required to send push notifications for direct chat messages, interactions, and updates.
Internet Permission (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to connect to cloud services, load content feeds, and facilitate messaging.
We do not access your camera, microphone, or gallery in the background without your explicit interaction.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We utilize industry-standard cloud and backend services provided by Google LLC:
Firebase Authentication: For secure account creation, login, and identity verification.
Cloud Firestore: For secure, encrypted storage of user profile data, social posts, comments, and messages.
Firebase Cloud Storage: For hosting uploaded video and image media.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): For push notification delivery.
Google Sign-In: For OAuth authentication.
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS / HTTPS).
Apex is a social platform that supports user-generated content. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, harassing, hateful, explicit, or unlawful content.
Users have access to in-app reporting and blocking features to report objectionable posts, comments, or accounts. All reports are reviewed promptly by our moderation team.
You retain full ownership and control over your personal data:
In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated profile information, posts, and media anytime by navigating to Settings > Delete Account.
Email Deletion Request: If you cannot access the app, you can submit a deletion request by emailing [Your Support Email] with the subject "Data Deletion Request". We will verify your identity and delete all your stored data within 30 days.
Apex is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately from our servers.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our app features, legal requirements, or Google Play policies. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
