This artifact is a Bitmoji Classroom. A Bitmoji Classroom is a virtual, interactive learning environment designed using a digital avatar created with the Bitmoji App to represent the teacher in a visually engaging, cartoon-like classroom setting. This interactive classroom combines elements of traditional classroom design with digital tools, allowing teachers to create immersive and interactive spaces for students to explore the online world safely. In my Bitmoji Classroom, embedded elements such as posters, whiteboards, classroom furniture, and digital tools allow students to access lessons, resources, or assignments directly in the virtual room. This innovative approach ensures students have an engaging and secure environment to develop critical thinking skills while fostering community and collaboration. These classrooms enhance remote and hybrid learning by providing a personalized and engaging way to connect with their peers. My Bitmoji classroom will be a safe way for my students to learn digital citizenship and responsible ways to interact online from either home or school.

ISTE-S:
My students will be able to achieve ISTE-S Standard 1.2.b: Online Interactions, which emphasizes the importance of demonstrating empathetic, inclusive interactions online and using technology to contribute to their communities responsibly. By utilizing my Bitmoji Classroom, students can actively and responsibly contribute to our classroom community, whether they are participating from home or within the classroom. The virtual space enables seamless interaction with educational materials. The classroom serves as a virtual space where students can interact with and collaborate with their peers in an engaging environment supporting an environment where students can practice positive digital citizenship. Through the platform, they practice empathy and inclusivity by engaging respectfully with one another, fostering a sense of belonging regardless of physical location. This allows students to develop essential skills for participating in broader digital communities, preparing them for future online interactions in academic and professional settings. By fostering these behaviors, the Bitmoji Classroom helps students build a strong foundation for becoming responsible, ethical digital citizens who positively impact their online and offline communities.
ISTE-E:
This Bitmoji Classroom meets ISTE-E Standard 2.6a Foster Student Ownership of Learning by placing much of the responsibility for learning in the hands of students, particularly in an online setting. In this virtual space, the educator creates assignments in the most accessible and engaging digital formats, ensuring that students can independently navigate and complete tasks. This approach empowers students to take control of their learning process, encouraging them to be active participants. As students navigate interactive elements and choose how to approach their tasks, they develop digital literacy and essential skills such as decision-making and self-regulation. The classroom promotes collaboration, allowing students to work together on assignments even if they are in different physical locations. The online classroom helps students develop autonomy, time management, and accountability by creating a flexible, interactive environment (Daher & Awawdeh, 2020). This personalized approach fosters a deeper connection to the learning material and prepares students to apply these skills in real-world digital and academic contexts.
InTASC:
I met InTASC Standard 4: Content Knowledge, which stresses the need for educators to understand the core concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of their disciplines while creating learning experiences that make content accessible and meaningful to all learners. My Bitmoji classroom exemplifies this by providing an engaging, interactive, and highly accessible digital learning environment. The use of platforms like Bitmoji classrooms "enhances student engagement and interactivity," making complex subjects more approachable and dynamic for students with disabilities (Fuentez and Grimes, 2020). Throughout this virtual space, I can teach essential skills, such as digital citizenship, in a way that is both relatable and easy to grasp. By creating a visually engaging environment, I help students navigate the principles of responsible online behavior, such as respectful communication, safeguarding personal information, and effective collaboration. The interactive nature of the Bitmoji classroom encourages active participation, allowing students to practice these skills in a safe and controlled setting. This approach to online classrooms ensures that all learners, regardless of their abilities have all opportunities to engage with the skills necessary for success in the digital world.
