This Privacy Policy explains how Ape Containment ("The Game," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, and protects information when you use the Game on the Meta Quest platform through the Meta Horizon Store.
By using Ape Containment, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Ape Containment may process the following information when you use the Game:
Ape Containment uses the Meta/Oculus platform authentication services to obtain the information necessary to authenticate a player.
The Meta User ID is used to:
Authenticate the player with the Game.
Associate the player's Meta account with their PlayFab account.
Allow the Game to identify the player across game sessions.
Support multiplayer and account-related functionality.
The Meta User ID is not used by us for advertising or marketing purposes.
Ape Containment uses PlayFab as part of its backend services.
When a player authenticates through the Meta platform, the Game uses that authentication information to connect the player to their PlayFab account so they can have their in game items and currency stored.
PlayFab may store information associated with the player's game account, which may include:
PlayFab Player ID.
Game inventory and owned virtual items.
Virtual currency balances.
Player account data required for game functionality.
Game-related statistics or progression, where applicable.
This information is used to provide account, inventory, progression, multiplayer, and other Game functionality.
Ape Containment uses Photon PUN 2 for multiplayer networking.
Information necessary for multiplayer functionality may be transmitted through Photon, including information such as player identifiers, network connection information, player positions, movements, and other game-state information required to synchronize players in multiplayer sessions.
Ape Containment uses Photon Voice 2 to provide real-time voice communication between players.
Voice communications are transmitted through Photon Voice 2 while voice chat is being used. We do not intentionally record or permanently store players' voice communications.

Information processed by Ape Containment is used to operate and improve the Game and provide its features.
We may use information to:
Authenticate players through Meta and PlayFab.
Create and maintain player game accounts.
Provide multiplayer functionality.
Connect players to multiplayer sessions.
Provide real-time voice communication.
Maintain player inventory and virtual currency.
Deliver purchased in-game content.
Verify in-app purchase entitlements.
Maintain game progression and account information.
Prevent fraud, cheating, abuse, or unauthorized access.
Enforce Game rules and platform requirements.

Ape Containment uses third-party services to provide its functionality.
Meta provides the platform and authentication services used by Ape Containment.
Meta may process information according to its own privacy policies and terms.
Meta's services are used by Ape Containment for platform authentication and Meta Quest functionality, including authentication information and in-app purchase processing.
Ape Containment uses PlayFab for backend account and game services.
PlayFab may process information associated with player accounts, including PlayFab Player IDs, inventory, virtual currency, and other game-related information necessary to provide the Game.
Ape Containment uses Photon PUN 2 for multiplayer networking and Photon Voice 2 for real-time voice communication.
Photon may process information necessary to provide these services, including information required to connect players and synchronize multiplayer gameplay.
We do not intentionally record or store player voice communications.
We share or transmit information only when reasonably necessary to provide the Game and its features.
Information may be processed by:
Meta, for platform authentication, platform services, and in-app purchase processing.
PlayFab, for account authentication, player accounts, inventory, virtual currency, and backend game services.
Photon, for multiplayer networking and real-time voice communication.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
We do not share player information with advertisers for targeted advertising.
Player account and game-related information may be stored by our third-party service providers, including PlayFab.
We take reasonable measures to protect information used by the Game. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
We do not intentionally collect or store sensitive information such as:
Payment card numbers.
Bank account information.
Social Security numbers.
Home addresses.
Government identification numbers.
Payment information for Meta Store purchases is handled by Meta rather than by Ape Containment.
We retain player information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Game's services, maintain player accounts and purchases, prevent abuse or fraud, comply with applicable requirements, and resolve disputes or support requests.
When information is no longer necessary for these purposes, it may be deleted or anonymized, subject to technical, legal, or service-provider requirements.
Players may request deletion of their personal information associated with Ape Containment.

When submitting a deletion request, please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant game account without sending unnecessary personal information.
We will process valid requests in accordance with applicable laws, Meta platform requirements, and the capabilities and requirements of our third-party service providers.
Deleting an account or associated information may result in the loss of game progression, inventory, virtual currency, or other account-related content (including purchases).
Ape Containment is available through the Meta Quest platform and may be subject to age-related restrictions and requirements established by Meta.
We do not intentionally request or collect sensitive personal information from children.
