A very unique opportunity to experience a guided tour of JPL including an overview of the Laboratory's activities and accomplishments, a multimedia presentation "Journey to the Planets and Beyond", and visits to the von Karman Visitor Center, the Space Operations Facility, and the Spacecraft Assembly Facility. We are also lucky to have previous APCG students who now work at JPL and will be able to discuss the important role that geographers play at JPL.

Chartered Transportation: A van will be provided for round-trip transportation from the College of the Canyons campus to JPL and back. The van will depart at 12pm from the University Center parking lot on the College of the Canyons campus and is expected to return by 4:30pm. There is capacity for 28 people in the van.
Self-Drive/Carpool: You may also drive yourself/carpool to JPLin La Cañada Flintridge. This option may be more convenient for those who live in the LA area.
The tour is from 1pm-3:30pm.

Explore the geology and physical geography of one of the most fascinating and iconic faults - the San Andreas! This full day geo-tour, led by Tina White, will take you through the San Gabriel mountains along the frontal fault and then through Devore, Wrightwood, Big Pines, Valyermo, Juniper Hills, Littlerock Dam, and if time Charlie Browns. You will experience the fault ridge at multiple locations and learn from an experienced guide how the San Andreas fault fits into the geography of Southern California. Don't miss this opportunity to get an up close and personal experience with one of the faults that comprises the tectonic boundary between the Pacific plate and the North American plate.
Van departs from University Center parking lot on the College of the Canyons campus at 8am and returns at 4pm.

This tour is a great way to learn about the rich historical and cultural geography of Santa Clarita and historic Newhall. You will step back into 1920s Hollywood history at William S. Hart mansion, ranch house, and park, home of one of the most successful actors of the silent film era. The tour will showcase historic Newhall including the Cowboy Walk of Fame and other local surprises!
The tour will include a break for lunch in historic Newhall.
