In Rateče there is small children park. 50 m away fom apartment (behind Kajžnkova hiška). Nothing special, but still ok. :)
Location (click): by the Pišnica river, near the Best Western Hotel. The exercise park includes an outdoor gym, an exercise park for the elderly and a children’s playground. It is very interesting to include a Slovenian hay rack in the sports park and thus show how it can adapt to different environments and needs. It provides general recreation, from children to the elderly, recreationists and top athletes.
The walk from the Pišnica Sports Park all the way to Lake Jasna is suitable for big and small toddlers as well as for strollers, bicycles and pushchairs. The beautiful path along the river and forest also offers a nice shady shelter on hot summer days, and lasts approximately 30 minutes, depending on the speed and stops. In summer you can also cool off in the (ice) Pišnica :)
Location: Lake Jasna is an artificial lake that lies at a beautiful point where we can observe the beauty of the Julian Alps. Razor Mountain on the left and Prisank on the right are definitely worth a visit, especially for families with older children. The lake is located along the road to Vršič, and it is best to reach it on foot from Kranjska Gora. In summer, the (too small) parking lot fills up quite quickly.“Free parking - with Abonma C (tourist) you will find here.
Activities along and in Lake Jasna:
There are walking paths around the lake,
You can refresh yourself by the lake (Jasna Chalet Resort Alpine Bar serves coffee, cakes, sandwiches or breakfast, as well as themed take away lunches and dinners under the stars)
Have a picnic by the "coast" and enjoy the sun and the beautiful views.
Observing ducks on a lake.
Refresh yourself in the lake.
You can drive around the lake in an SUP, which you can rent at the Jasna Chalet Resort
You play along the Pišnica River by the lake and build bridges and tributaries.
And be sure to take a picture next to the ibex statue.
We recommend a walk in the early morning when you will catch the lake in idyllic solitude :)
At the top of the Vitranc chairlift is Bedančev dom, with a beautiful view of Podkoren and Kranjska Gora. And not only that - this one hides quite a few novelties for our youngest ones and you will quickly spend half a day there.
The children will enjoy the theme-orientation park, where they follow the markings on the trees and look for famous heroes from Kekš's land. The park has five theme points. At each point, one of the heroes of Vandot's story is presented: Kekec, Bedanc, Mojca, Pehta and Rožle. The task of the visitors is to find all five of Kekec's heroes from the starting point at Bedančev dom, to stamp each point and return to the starting point. They get a postcard for stamping in Bedančev dom.
Fun for all ages you will find in the “playland”. The cubs will climb among the teeth areas of a huge bear, lock themselves in Kosobrin's cage or test their abilities in a mini adrenaline park.
If you walk to Bedančev dom (from the foot of the Vitranc chairlift), you will go through a theme park. At seven points you will learn about the history of the ski resort and the development of tourism. The way up takes about 45 minutes with stops.
Try a descent along the 1500 m long route of the summer toboggan run "Besna Pehta". In five minutes you can overcome as much as 293 m of altitude difference with a speed of 40 km / h.
Tickets for the summer toboggan run are available at the lower station of the Vitranc 1 chairlift. In the event of heavy rain, the summer toboggan run is closed. Children under 6 years of age are only allowed to ride in an escort. VIDEO.
In rateče: Smal playground near Kajžnikova hiša (P:S: it is ESCAPE MUSEUM!)
Big Soccer and basketball court with a great view of mountains. 15 minutes walking from the apartment. Location is HERE. There is also a volleyball court (on sand!). It is free for anyone to use. Volleyball court is also open… but I don't know if you need any agreement to use it. Basketball is on the drawer in the bedroom.
In kranjska Gora:
Pišnica (more for older kids… it is more like a recreational playground. But they have swings).
Športni park Ruteč: -for older and also for smaller kids. Slide for smaller kids is curved and our son loves it (2y8m). They also have great zipline and “adrenaline” stuff for older kids.
Playground @ Lačni kekec - Combine playground with good food. Nothing special, but it is possible that you can ger some free minutes while eating :))))
Kranjska gora playground: its ok. It has a big soccer court, swings… It is for the kids in school but of course anyone can play!!!!
Playground next to Gostilna Zelenci. Nothing special but the slide is good. :)
