Is a smaller city that has a lot to offer. I have visited BEE MUSEUM: https://www.radolca.si/en/attractions/museums-and-galleries/museum-of-apiculture-radovljica and i must say it was good.
If the weather is not so good you have lots of other interesting indoor activities: https://www.radolca.si/en/attractions/museums-and-galleries
And in Radovljica you will find restaurants and inss for every taste! https://www.radolca.si/en/attractions/museums-and-galleries
1. OJSTRICA(g.maps)
I think this is the most magnificent view of lake Bled and the island. You need cca. (max) 15 minutes to go up there. The main problem is parking. More in a way that you have to pay for it. Parking is located here and I don't know how much it costs (last info 3€/hour). View from Ojstrica is a "MUST" ;) When you park, just walk in the direction of navigation to ojstrica but be cautious. There is a shortcut path that goes over woods (it was here 2 years ago). If you don't find it, no worries…the official path is not long.
2. When on Bled. You must try Blejska Kremšnita (Cream cake). Most of the people buy it here But i always buy it here.
In HOFER stores, you can buy them cheaper and they are also great. ;)
3. You should go to Vintgar Gorge This is the most common entrance location. Parking is 5 euro.
If you want more adventures ;) You can park here
It is a "quiet place". Last time I was here, the restaurant wasn't working, but I think it is now (because of the tourist season). Never mind... park there. You will also have a great view and bench. Then you have to find signs directing to Vintgar. You will find it on a crossroad (near church) You will have to walk through woods to come to vindgar Gorge. Here goes the path ;)
4. Bled Castle: you have to pay entrance. The view is OK... you can see 360 photo from castle on link and decide if you want to visit it: CLICK HERE
5. Bled ISLAND: its a nice trip with
Bled is nice. Maybe you can go a little bit further and visit BOHINJ.
1. Visit Slap savica: https://www.slovenia360.si/en/photo-locations/bohinj-slap-savica
2. Or go hiking on PEČ (Awesome view to Bohinj... but you need to walk about 15-25 minutes. Path is ok, but little steep on some sections... I don't know how fit you are. Google it. The View is superb ;) 360 view here. Starting point is HERE. Park your car HERE (payable!) and walk to starting point. Follow the signs. You will need 1 hour for sure to go up and down and sit a little. ;)
P.s. path is a little bit steep in the beginning, but don't let this scare you. As long as you have some good snickers and you are careful!!!! Just take your time, it's worth it!
3. After that I suggest relaxing on the grass “beach”. Bring some towels or a blanket to relax on.
Bovec surroundings are very nice and beautiful. To get there you have 2 options. Over VRŠIČ PASS or over ITALY(Predil Pass). Vršič pass will take you a little more time and the curved road to vršič is a little bit narrow. It all depends on what is your first stop. Be careful to check if the passes are open, before you take the trip. Link to road info in Slovenia.
All the stops I suggest below I have visited by myself. I still need to explore more of this part, I know. But still, below you will find more suggestions than you can fit in a day. ;)
If you are traveling over Italy in times of COVID, be sure to check in on this site.
Info about this section is already written in sights around the apartment HERE above.
2. WATERFALL/Gorge MLINARICA
Nice waterfall experience. Park here and find (walk to) the bridge to the waterfall here. You will reach the waterfall from parking in 15 minutes. Mind your step and watch for “possible crushing stones''. There is a viewing platform from which you can see the end path of Mlinarica Gorge.
Very cute short trip but nothing special if you are in a hurry.
Stop here, it is a must. Especially if you have your lunch with you. You will find a “hidden bench” with the most amazing view to soča. I hope it will not be taken at that moment. Small Soča Gorges are very beautiful. Walk “by” them on both parts of the bridge. Don't worry if you think that one area is campings. Anyone can walk by and explore the beauties of Soča Gorges.
4. VELIKA KORITA SOČE
Although you can find location on google maps here… (path it starts here, but parking there is small. You decide what is better for you) ...The best option to park is here. If there is no parking up there. Go down the road and park somewhere here (always be careful… if i say that you can park, it can always change… watch the signs please).
The best photo locations are here:
I think you should stop here.
5. BOVEC
Small “Active” City. If you are looking for adrenaline, biking… adventure here around, this place is a good start. You can find the Tourist Information centre here.
Small open kitchen experience (in tourist season) you will find in the city centre square.
Very beautiful waterfall. Parking (pay in tourist season) is located here. Road to get to parking is quite narrow (don't worry) at the end (ner parking) but the parking can accept lots of cars. Park your car and follow the signs. In less than 5 minutes you will reach a very beautiful & instagramable waterfall. ;)
If you are a little bit avanturistic. “Climb” on the right side path and get an awesome view from the top of the waterfall. You will also see small troughs and pools that the river made.
The most water-rich and mightiest waterfall in Slovenia, with a total height of 144 metres and width of 18 metres, is also one of the most majestic waterfalls (more info here) in Europe.
Viewing platform is here and the best place to park a car is here. To get to the viewing platform from parking you will need 10-20 minutes.
More adrenaline people walk up (from the platform) to this spot and get views like this one. Be careful if you go this way!
