This course gives you an overview of what is concentration and role of Yoga in enhancing concentration towards overall personality development. The main processes involved in concentration are attention, perception, cognition, and response. The mind-body response of concentration moves from Chanchalata (distraction), Ekagrata (Concentration), Dharana (Intense focusing) and Dhyana (meditation). The eastern and western perspectives of concentration will be discussed in the course. Integrated approach of yoga practices for concentration will be presented. This Course provides an overview of the role of yoga in managing anger. As a component of total personality development managing anger aims at training the participants in both eastern and western perspectives, thus improving coping skills and imparting notional corrections. The course includes both theory and practice components; the theory modules will give an overview of both eastern and western understanding of anger and details of various modern and eastern concepts to deal with it, connection of food, physical activity and emotions with that of anger and an elaborate description of various yogic techniques such as pranayama, meditation and asanas in managing anger. The other part of the course will give an explanation on hands on practice sessions of various yoga techniques starting from Joint loosening practices, breathing practices, asanas, pranayama, various meditative techniques useful for developing right kind of mindset by balancing mind body component and thereby enabling an individual to learn effective ways to manage his/her anger.
