APLI Laser Specialist Certification Program
The objectives of the certification program are mainly divided into two parts: for dentists and assistants. As long as they participate in the educational lectures held by APLI on time to obtain credit hours, and according to different stages of certification, they need to participate in certification projects such as written examinations, oral examinations or case presentations. At the annual APLI conference, a certificate will be awarded after successfully passing the required tests. Members interested in becoming certified as a Laser Specialist or as a Laser Assistant can choose the relevant educational certification program.
Dentist Certification：
Fellow Certificate
It is necessary to take 30 credits of dental laser courses, and provide the certificate documents of classes which 20 credits of them must be the courses sponsored by APLI.
Must be the membership of APLI more than one year, and complete the payment of APLI annual fee.
Must pass the written examination. The examination is 50 multiple-choice questions. The score must be more than 70 to pass and the examination time is 60 minutes.
Hands-on Practice is required.
More than two annual meetings are required.
Assistant training：
Coaching dental assistants to become a laser safety officer in a laser dentist's clinic, learning the basic skills of laser operation, how to explain the basic knowledge of laser treatment to patients, and how to introduce laser treatment, etc.
Specialist Certificate
It is necessary to take 60 credits of dental laser courses, and provide the certificate documents of classes which 40 credits of them must be the courses sponsored by APLI.
Must be the membership of APLI more than two years, and complete the payment of APLI annual fee.
Must obtain the APLI Fellow Certificate or equivalent certification.
After obtaining the above certification, you have to practice how to operate the LASER equipments for more than one year.
Must pass the written examination. The examination is 50 multiple-choice questions. The score must be more than 80 to pass and the examination time is 60 minutes.
Must prepare 3 cases at the annual meeting, and report the best one. You also have to hand in the cases to APLI with CD, pass the oral and Hands-on examinations within 10~20 mins.
Posters in annual meeting are required.
More than three annual meetings are required.
Educator Certificate
It is necessary to take 100 credits of dental laser courses, and provide the certificate documents of classes which 60 credits of them must be the courses sponsored by APLI.
Must be the membership of APLI more than three years, and complete the payment of APLI annual fee.
Must obtain the APLI Diplomate Certificate.
After obtaining the above certification, you have to operate the LASER equipments for more than two year.
Participated in at least three academic seminars held by APLI and one laser-related speech of international academic seminar.
The application of International Educator should be approved by the board director meeting.
