OFFICEUNTITLED Studio Tour
As the marketing coordinator for OFFICEUNTITLED, I was responsible for organizing the ULI Studio Tour / Meet & Greet on September 17th which included event setup, creating key marketing materials such as the brochure and invite, and coordinating with the co-host, ULI, to ensure smooth planning and execution. I played a hands-on role in managing the logistics, arranging meetings, and finalizing event details. On the day of the event, I coordinated hosting and greeting guests, while also ensuring everything ran smoothly, contributing to the success of this networking opportunity for AEC professionals.
Women's Fair
The LMU Women’s Fair was conceived as a year-long initiative to strengthen bonds among the women of the Loyola Marymount community and to provide a platform for empowerment and future success. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the event could not proceed as planned on March 22nd, 2020. Despite this setback, my commitment to the project remained unwavering.
The fair was designed to feature female-run businesses, student organizations led by women, LMU resources tailored for women, and Stephanie Shepherd as our keynote speaker. We aimed to invite all women and female-identifying students, staff, alumni, and local girl’s schools within the LMU community. This was the vision we had, and the intended flyer reflects our goals.
Inspired by the many women, particularly women of color, who have fought for equal rights and representation, our aim was to create a positive impact on campus for future generations. The initiative sought to address and rectify gaps in resources and opportunities that women at LMU have historically faced, from career fairs and health services to awareness on critical issues. Although the event did not come to fruition, our dedication to fostering change and highlighting women’s contributions remains a driving force.
LMU Day
I jumped into my role as ASLMU’s (Associated Students of LMU) Director of Spirit head on by taking the initiative to create a signature event from LMU, for LMU, about LMU. I saw the desire from students to be spirited and the excitement that came with donning their spirit wear but knew they needed an opportunity to celebrate the school we all love so much. When Craig Pittens, the LMU Athletic Director, joined ASLMU’s fall training, I asked him, “What can we do to help you?”. Craig simply said “Help us win,” and the only way to win was with the 6th man in the stands. That’s when I knew we needed LMU Day.
Every day from the first week of school until the event, January 19th, I spent my free time in the Student Leadership Development office working tirelessly with the help of Jessica Saucedo and Taylor Pajunen, as well as our incredible advisor, Andrea Niemi. Through this position and my work to bring our community together, I was able to learn everyday how passionate and driven I could be.
On January 19th, 2019, after months of emails to companies, budget meetings, marketing strategies, plans falling through and sleepless nights stressing over the success of this event, LMU Day came to life. Alumni mall was decorated in crimson and blue and students became excited over the burst of spirit. Standing there, looking at what I and the people alongside me had created gave me confidence in realizing my true, full potential of what I can really do. When it was time for the big game against Pepperdine, fans followed the drumline into Gersten Pavilion, and just as Craig predicted, it was the pride in the stands that pushed our team to victory.
