AOD Lab.

innovative technology for structure design and fabrication, leading to advanced ordinary devices

Research

Our research areas include design and fabrication of structures at various scales to fit scientific and industrial needs.

For fine structuring, we are striving to develop innovative processing technology that is adaptable to variety of materials.

Exemplary island pattern

Radius of each disk shown in this figure is 250 nm.

Exemplary perforated pattern

Radius of each hole shown in this figure is 250 nm.

Exemplary line pattern

Width of each line shown in this figure is 500 nm.

We are also focused on applications development for electronics and photonics.

Lasers

Red, green, and blue liquid organic distributed feedback (DBF) lasers under 365 nm UV light.

Sensors

Fringe-effect capacitive sensors (with both contact and non-contact sensing capabilities), fabricated by intaglio contact printing.

Energy storage devices

Micro-supercapacitors (MSCs) with 2D planar architecture, achieved by high-resolution printing.

Energy harvesting devices

Miniaturized triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) for water-drop energy harvesting.
