Maxwell's Mission

Maxwell’s Mission is inspired by our sweet angel dog. He was rescued from the streets of Texas and made his way up to Minnesota, and into our hearts, through a dog rescue organization. Maxwell was an adult dog, around 6 years old, and arrived skittish, scared, and very untrusting of humans. Even with all this working against him, his sweet eyes melted our hearts and we just knew he was meant to be ours. We adopted him on April 18th, 2021. As much as we wanted to give our Maxwell a fresh start, he had a lot of baggage to overcome: trauma, a mouthful of broken teeth, and heartworm disease, but we were determined that he would get his happy ending and live a good life. Slowly, we learned from each other: patience, trust, and unconditional love. While he remained wary of strangers, he loved his people fiercely. Maxwell and his fur brother, Milo, started out unsure of each other, but slowly built an unbreakable bond. For almost 3 years, we lived every day to the fullest, went on road trips and adventures, and enjoyed every second of each other’s company. Towards the very end of 2024, Maxwell started to slow down and get sick. His cancer came on fast and strong, and he gained his angel wings on February 14th, 2025. Even though our time together was short, he changed our heart and lives furever, in the very best possible way! We will always have a soft spot in our hearts for rescue dogs and are determined to carry his memory with us furever!
