AnyQR (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a mobile app that lets you scan QR codes at restaurants to view digital menus, add items to your cart, and place orders via WhatsApp. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

2.1 Information stored only on your device (not sent to us)

Scan history: The app keeps a short history of recently scanned restaurant QR codes (for example restaurant name and scan time) only on your device. This is used to show “recent scans” in the app. We do not receive this data.

Cart data: Items you add to your cart are stored only on your device until you place an order or clear the cart. We do not receive this data.

2.2 Information sent over the internet

Menu and restaurant data: When you scan a QR code or open a restaurant’s menu, the app requests menu and restaurant details (such as name, address, menu items, and prices) from our backend service restaurant-api.anyqr.in. This is necessary to show you the menu. No personal data about you is sent with these requests; we only send the restaurant identifier from the QR code.

Order placement: When you tap “Place order now”, the app opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message containing your name, table number, and order items. The order is sent by you directly to the restaurant via WhatsApp. We do not receive or store the content of your orders.

2.3 Information you enter in the app

Name and table number: If you enter your name and table number on the order summary screen, they are included only in the WhatsApp message that you send to the restaurant. We do not store or collect this information on our servers.

Permissions We Use

Camera: Used only to scan QR codes on restaurant tables. We do not record, store, or upload any camera footage.

Internet / Network: Used to load menu and restaurant data from our servers.

Vibrate: Used for feedback when you scan a QR code as an optional device feature.

We do not access your contacts, location, or other sensitive data except as needed for the features above.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not create user accounts or require sign-in.
We do not collect your name, email, or phone number on our servers.
We do not use advertising or third-party analytics in the app.
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Third-Party Services

WhatsApp: When you place an order, the app opens WhatsApp. Your use of WhatsApp is subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. We do not control how the restaurant or WhatsApp handles the message you send.

Backend API: Menu and restaurant data are served from our backend restaurant-api.anyqr.in. This service does not collect or store personal data about app users.

Data Retention

On your device: Scan history and cart data stay on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app. We do not have access to delete this from your device remotely.

On our servers: We do not store personal data about you. Logs on our servers, such as IP address and request time, may be kept for a limited time for security and operation and are not used to identify you personally.

Security

We use standard technical measures such as HTTPS to protect data in transit. Data stored only on your device is protected by your device’s own security features such as lock screen and encryption.

Children’s Privacy

AnyQR is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be changed when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy. For significant changes, we may notify you in the app or on our website.
