I found this lamp at an estate sale in Louisiana, and inspiration immediately struck. After thoroughly cleaning the rust off the lamp, I took already damaged dolls (Barbies, babydolls, porcelain dolls, etc) and used a handsaw and my hands to take them apart and place them within the lamp. Also featured on the CISAW Instagram!
I made this immediately after discovering the results of the 2024 presidential election to get some feelings out. I took already damaged dolls (Barbies, babydolls, etc) and used a handsaw and my hands to take them apart and place them amongst the faux garden. The basket itself and all the flowers are from a thrift store, and all the toys are from either thrift stores, Scraplanta, or "lots" of dolls online. The basket was also pretty damaged, so I painted it.
This is a project I made using a Bonita Femur doll from the Freaky Fusion line of Monster High. I wanted to create an environment for her based on her main components, being the child of a skeleton and a mothman, so I did lots of research from the half eaten fabric in the lantern, to her being attracted and trapped in the lantern itself, to the plants inside being ones that attract moths, and all the other little details Inside the lantern. There's a small picture of her friends in-universe, to scale books, and more!

This is a project I made using a Sirena von Boo doll from the Freaky Fusion line of Monster High. I wanted to create an environment for her based on her main components, being the child of a ghost and a mermaid, to match my Bonita project (below). In this piece, I wanted to portray a prison filled with some pieces of trash and undersea treasures, as a representation of fish trapped in unkept fish tanks. While working on this project, I accidentally cracked the bowl, so I incorporated it into the story by putting her hand on it, like she's trying to break out.
This is a copy of The Life of the Spider by J.H. Faire that Agnes Scott's library was giving away. The title and the beauty of the book really interested me, but the book itself was falling apart from age. When I saw the check-out card on the back and saw check out dates going back to the 1930s, I knew I wanted to restore it as an art project, that's why the checkout card is removable, I wanted the viewer to be able to see both sides.
To make this, I used a Hotel Transylvania 2 McDonald's toy and a Gen 2 Draculaura head. I got both the McDonald's toy and the balloons from Scraplanta. I took the McDonald's toy and cut the head off with a small handsaw, then I repainted the skin-tone parts of it to more closely match Draculaura's pink skin and the tie to be pink instead of red. Then, I painted all the balloons except the middle one to make them all pink and black. Then I glued the head, toy, and balloons together with hot glue.
Draculaura in her rightful place, on my desk.
This is a puppet I made in a Puppetry course which I took at Agnes Scott College in my junior year. The concept for her is "drag queen platypus", and her drag name is Platinum Pussy. She is a rod puppet and was made with a 2 liter soda bottle, foil, paper mache, cardboard, fabric, and rods. The audio in the video (left) is from an episode of Adventure Time, since when I was making this character, I had Lumpy Space Princess in mind for her personality.
This is a scarf marionette I made in the same puppetry course as above. She was made with wooden balls, two scarves, and thread for the strings. I painted her face with paint markers, and based the look on Monster High's Freak Du Chic Draculaura. In the video above, I'm puppeteering to the song "Money for School" from Over the Garden Wall.

I made the Barbie on the left's skirt, the Barbie in the middle's top and skirt, and the Barbie on the right's top
