Marine Hydrodynamics Group
Our group is actively seeking PhD students to join the group. These positions will be fully funded. Possible research areas include but not limited to: wave-structure interaction, bio-inspired propulsion/maneuvering, hydroelastic slamming, actively controlled fluid-structure interaction and marine energy harvesting. Potential candidates should have strong academic background in engineering and/or science field and be highly motivated to perform high-quality research. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the research group, candidates of all STEM majors (for example, naval architecture, ocean/civil/hydraulic/mechanical/aerospace Engineering, mechanics, physics, etc.) are welcome. Hands-on experiences, such as design, instrumentation, programming, data/image processing, are preferred. Experiences on fluid dynamics research (experimental, theoretical or computational) are preferred but not required. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree (or above) at the time of enrollment. Good publication record is preferred but not required.
Candidates should contact Prof. Wang (awang38@stevens.edu) by email with their CV attached. In addition, an unofficial transcript (electronic copy) will be helpful to demonstrate the candidate’s qualification. Candidates should also pay attention to the university application process, requirements and deadlines at the graduate admission webpage: https://www.stevens.edu/admissions/graduate-admissions.
Visiting students and scholars are encouraged to contact Dr. Wang to discuss research ideas.
