Anvita Gattani trained at NYU Tisch. She was one of 100 filmmakers selected globally for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Gold Rising Program and was chosen as the cohort’s speaker, giving a speech before the Academy President and Board. As an actor, Anvita has appeared on HBO, NBC, and on regional and Off-Broadway stages. As a director, they crafted the award-winning dystopian film Alone, Alone, Alone on a Wide Wide Sea. She was named one of Minorities in Film’s Directors to Watch and selected for the Rickshaw Writers Room. Anvita is the Co-founder and Head of Programming at Saphlicks, a film organization dedicated to amplifying sapphic voices within the LGBTQ+ community. In Hindi, Anvita means "who bridges the gaps" and it is their mission to utilize storytelling to bridge the gaps between different groups of people.
