An inspiring and factual record of Konkani language with its Devanagari script. Undermining these roots, today's vested interest groups are trying to occupy this space, that too with a foreign script. The same group had tried to kill this language by banning this language, maybe the only language banned by a Government (Portugal - 1864).
One of the arguments brought out by Sri Uday Bembre in this article to establish the legacy of Devanagari script for Konkani is the 12 volume Hortus Indicus Malabaricus written at Kochi during the Dutch period and the role of Appu Bhat, Ranga Bhat and Vinayak Pandit.
Our Trust is proud to erect a monument at Cherlai, Kochi for these three great Ayurveda Doctors whose testimonials in Konkani (Devanagari script) is playing a crucial role in establishing the real legacy of our mother tongue.
