Máximo Ponce de León

Hello! I’m Máximo Ponce de León, better known as Max. I am a PhD student at the Vancouver School of Economics, University of British Columbia. In my research, I explore the intersection of development economics, political economy, and economic history. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (2019) and a Master’s degree in Economic Theory (2022) from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

Beyond economics, I am found of yoga, long walks, and cats. I am a vegetarian and an animal-rights advocate. On my free time, I enjoy reading novels, playing paddel tennis, and the outdoors.
