In spring 2021, the Antiracism Committee within the Sociology, Anthropology, Criminology, and Social Work department at Eastern invited Dr. Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz from Columbia University Teachers College to facilitate a campus-wide workshop entitled "Taking the Antiracist Journey Through the Archaeology of the Self." During the workshop, Dr. Sealey-Ruiz encouraged participants to move from active allies to co-conspirators (in the words of Dr. Bettina Love). While every antiracism book list is partial, the dozen books below are a starting point.
