Antibiotic-resistant bacteria

I am a senior and in the health science major with a clinical concentration and I am minoring in Biology and Chemistry. My plan is to apply to grad school to be a Physcians Assistant. I currently have an accociate degree in the science of surgical technology and I work as a surgical tech at Baystate medical center in the Impatient operating rooms. Outside of school I enjoy reading, playing pool, and spending time with my friends and family. 

I choose antibiotic resistant bacteria because of my work in the hospital we are always concerened about bacteria and infections. Understanding the evolution and mechanisms in how bacteria become resistant is important in understanding for healthcare workers as well as for my future career where I will be prescribing medications that include antibiotics.
