Opposed to Hellion, Sentinel of Time and Bringer of Summer
The Summer lasted too long that year. Under normal circumstances, this would be considered to be a good thing, leafs remaining bountiful year round, however, not when the Summer is a Drought. It all felt normal at the start of the season, with nothing to note other than a glaring sun, heightened thirst, and more heat radiating from the volcano. Creatures near and far bathed in the sun, herbivores preparing to start stocking up for the harsher seasons. They waited patiently for the leaves to shift from green to red, though it seemed to take longer this year. They waited days, then weeks, then months. The heat was unforgiving, laying waste to the smaller species. If one were to take a walk around Flower Cove at this time they would find many Aesho or Aueko shrivelled up by the dust-filled ponds. Once the water was gone, everything started to suffer. Everything needed water to survive, Carnivores, Herbivores, Photovores. Everything, except for Photocarnis. They flourished in the madness, the horrific heat only heightening their strength, as they slaughtered all creatures too weak to run from them. At this point, that was everything.
Only one remained steadfast, a lone Yeba-idi who had roamed Sonaria too long to falter now, its will to live lending it vitality. It was in its nature to run from danger, but these circumstances would not allow it. So it stood, still as a statue, savouring its remaining energy. Small creatures hid beneath her looming frame, relishing the shade she made, and safe from predators. Never in her life had she been a violent creature, but if any Photocarni grew within reach, it would be gone before it could even recognise her reaching down to bite. She became a graveyard, corpses littered around her feet being buried beneath growing layers of dust, the only evidence of time passing by. Nothing grew, nothing new. No notice was taken when the creatures taking refuge beneath her stopped moving, it was too tiring to be aware. Energy sapped at her life, and as the days continued on, it would surely kill her. Her movements lessened more and more, tendrils stagnant, eyes unblinking, soon it was not only her outside which was still. It was quick, her lungs refused to move anymore, and her heart followed immediately after.
But she didn't die, her will to remain was too strong. Dust which had drowned the land began to swarm, coating her body and forming a tight-fitting shell. Where her mind had begun to grow dim from exhaustion, suddenly she was aware of all. Every grain of sand and dust were eyes, granting her vision to all Sonaria within its reach. She could command them, moving these particles to travel small distances to show her more, though there wasn't anything to see. The land was dead, only she appeared to remain. During the drought she had not let herself feel, it was too draining to be scared or sad, but she didn't have to worry about energy any more, she couldn't. The dust dug into her mind and followed her thoughts, lifting her head up and opening her jaw allowing her to wail. Cries echoed throughout all, dry leaves shuddering and the remaining water rippling. Cries unlike anything seen in the past, their sheer force shook the foundations of reality, ushering the waves of Sonaria to move once more. Waves of water, waves of sand, and waves of Time.
Time... was of no use to her anymore. It had failed her, and she had grown beyond its constraints. As the leaves began to shift in hue and fall, as they had meant to years ago, she only wept more. She collapsed, exhausted, it was too late for Fall to come now, too much had been lost. Dust flittered towards her splayed body, covering her as if a blanket until nothing remained visible. Dunes formed around her form, her drained yet all too conscious form. Eventually, Fall too ended, as Winter rushed in, then Spring, then Summer, and the cycle began anew. She watched through particles as the world populated itself with Creatures yet again, but she for the first time, she was unwilling. Unwilling to care again.
Sellenous is the Tyrant of Stagnancy and Bringer of Dust. Her body resides in the Mesa, hidden deep beneath the sand. She is the eldest of the Tyrants, though still younger than all Wardens as well as Kosmo. Her body is that of an elder. Unlike the others, she has not done anything of note after having become an anti-warden, "choosing" to remain encased beneath layers of dust. This doesn't mean she's not aware of what's happening, she is very aware, but think of her more as someone watching a nature documentary, only if that documentary was the only thing available to watch and that hypothetical person didn't like nature. Or documentaries. Yeah she ain't doing too well.
Her appearance is that of a grey, tall (yet worryingly thin) Yeba-idi, coated in a fine layer of dust assisting in her movement, if she chose to make any, that is. Before the drought, she was indistinguishable from any other of her species, docile and calm, preferring to run from combat or just hope their frame was enough to scare off predators. As of present, she is cold and uncaring, though not rude, merely fully unemotional.
