Welcome to Privacy Shield: App Monitor. Your privacy is our mission. Unlike traditional security apps, we function as a transparent Privacy Dashboard and Permission Manager to help you understand and control how other applications access your data.

Our Privacy Commitment:

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
We do not collect or store the content of your photos, videos, or audio recordings.
Your core privacy logs and audit history stay strictly local on your device.

1. Sensitive Permissions & Usage

To provide real-time monitoring and security auditing, our app requires access to specific system functions. We use these strictly for the following purposes:

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE API USAGE DISCLOSURE

Privacy Shield: App Monitor utilizes Android's AccessibilityService API solely to provide real-time sensor utilization tracking for the Camera, Location, and Microphone.

How we use this API:

To detect in real-time when another application attempts to access or utilize your device's Camera, Location, or Microphone, whether in the foreground or background.
To immediately generate a user notification the exact moment one of these three sensitive permissions is detected in use, keeping you informed of background sensor access.

Important Privacy Notes:

The AccessibilityService API is used strictly for passive sensor detection. It does NOT interact with, manipulate, or change any system settings, app interfaces, or user configurations.
This service operates completely offline. We do not collect, read, store, or share any screen content, personal data, or user interactions via this API. All monitoring occurs strictly on your local device.

Location Access

We monitor location-access events to log when other apps are tracking your GPS coordinates in the background, allowing you to audit your location privacy.

Query All Packages

This permission allows our App Auditor to scan all installed apps to calculate their Privacy Grade and identify "Hidden Apps" that may be operating without a launcher icon.

2. Data Storage & Security

Local Storage

Your Real-Time logs, Permission History, and Privacy Audit results are stored in a secure database inside your phone. This data is never uploaded to our servers.

Security Measures

We provide a built-in Biometric Lock feature. We highly recommend enabling this to prevent unauthorized users from viewing your privacy logs if they have physical access to your phone.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

To keep basic features free, ensure app stability, and manage subscriptions, we integrate with trusted third-party SDKs provided by Google. These services may collect certain device-level information to function:

Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements inside the app. To serve ads, Google AdMob may collect and process information such as:

Unique identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID / GAID).
IP address and rough location data (for regional ad delivery).
Device specifications, OS version, and performance/interaction data.

AdMob uses this data to serve relevant personalized or non-personalized advertisements, prevent ad fraud, and track ad performance. You can manage or reset your Advertising ID via your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).

Firebase Crashlytics

Collects anonymous crash reports, stack traces, and basic usage events (e.g., "Scan Completed") to help us identify bugs and improve app stability.

Google Play Billing

Processes your premium subscription. We only receive an anonymized transaction token to verify your PRO status; we never see or store your payment details.

4. Children’s Privacy

Privacy Shield: App Monitor is a general audience app and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or target personal information from children under 13.
