We are your AYC Team and we cannot wait to meet you! Together, we represent 60 cumulative years of work with young people and share a passion for directly unpacking and addressing systemic oppression and working to dismantle it.
My name is Monique Marshall and I love people...especially young people! I believe that the answer to an antiracist America lies in raising anti-racist children. Unlike the generations before theirs, we need to invite all children into critical race dialogue and teach them to create new and equitable systems of belonging. I love sketching, singing, and the spoken word. Let’s create something important together!
I am Sandi Crozier. Working with young people has been life-changing for me. The curiosity, passion, determination, and self-reflectiveness they reveal daily are inspiring. Their hopes and aspirations for a better world are a catalyst for my own hopefulness and motivation to work towards creating change for more equity and social consciousness. I love words - reading them, writing them, and exchanging them, and I believe they hold enormous power. I can’t wait to collaborate and share during our time at AYC!
My name is Moreau Halliburton and I am a current college student at Lawrence University (Appleton, WI). I love to play music, especially with other people! I have a deep connection to anti-racist work, and I believe music can be a catalyst for anti-racist action and change.
I am Kusum Nairi and I am a clay artist, art educator, and mom of 2. My passion is learning about artists and their unique stories as well as honoring and protecting kids’ creative instincts that they are born with. I love exploring art materials with kids and watching them learn to express themselves and communicate their ideas for a better world!
I am Maddie Bradshaw and I am passionate about education technology and 21st century learning. I love coding, teaching, and collaborating with other educators who share my passion for supporting students. I am excited by the idea of leveraging technology to be a force for good. I also believe in the power of disconnecting from screens and learning offline through mediums like storytelling. Above all, I believe that young people, like the students in this coalition, can use their voices and share their stories to help make the world a more equitable place.
