The Truth About You
January 14th, 2026
Have you ever felt that your life is meaningless, that you’re merely an accident of the universe with no purpose? Or that because you don’t meet the standards of having a high-paying job, having a nice car, or being good-looking, you’re not valuable? That’s exactly what our culture often tells us—but that isn’t the truth about you.
The truth about you is that you are of infinite value, because of who you are, and not what you do or what you've achieved. And who are you? A masterpiece who has been "fearfully and wonderfully made" by the creator of the universe! Let's read King David's song to God and learn what God is telling us:
關於你的真實是:你的價值是無限的,因為你是誰,而不是因為你做了什麼,或你達成了什麼成就。那你是誰呢?你是宇宙的創造者所創造的傑作,是「奇妙可畏地被造」的人!讓我們來讀大衛王向神所唱的詩,並學習神要告訴我們的話:
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
我的肺腑是你所造的;
因我受造奇妙可畏;
在地的深處被聯絡;
你的眼早已看見了;
Psalm 139:13-16 /
Let's cling to the truth and remember to speak it over ourselves, our spouse, our children, our family members, and everyone who needs to know how very, very special they are in God's eyes.
Verses about Jesus to share with Mormons
If Mormon/"Latter Day Saint" missionaries approach you, press them on whether they think Jesus is God, with the Father and the Holy Spirit. They don't. This is despite the fact that Jesus and the New Testament are both very clear on who and what Jesus is.
When he saw Jesus back from the dead, Doubting Thomas declared "My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28). Paul declares that Jesus is "God over all" (Romans 9:5), and both Peter and Titus write of "our God and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 1:1; Titus 2:13). Jesus himself says: “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?" (John 14:9).
All of this on top of Jesus claiming the same infinite reality and status as God in the Old Testament (Exodus 3:14; John 8:58), forgiving sins (Mark 2:5–7), declaring primacy over the Jewish Law (Matt. 5:17-45), and accepting worship of him (Matt. 14:33; John 9:38) - all of which can only be expected from God Himself.
So before Mormons ask you to "open your heart" and to pray and ask God to tell whether you the Book of Mormon is true, ask them why they feel the need to contradict Jesus himself and God's Word in the New Testament.
Ask them to read the New Testament themselves, and humbly ask Jesus to show them who He is.
