You do not need to purchase a textbook for this class. Readings are available on Canvas.
It is your responsibility to be familiar with the college learning agreement. The learning agreement has information on health and safety, learning resources, personal support resources, and student rights and responsibilities.
In this class, we may venture into some controversial topics. In participating in this class, you agree to both read and respond respectfully. This does not mean that we cannot disagree, but we must all be willing to hear differing perspectives without negating another person’s humanity. Learning should push us out of our comfort zone, and we must be willing to work through that discomfort to engage the material. Speech or actions in any form that make others feel unsafe in this learning environment will not be tolerated. Visit the Washington State Legislature website for information on the student code of conduct.

I will make every effort to reply to emails within 24 hours during the business week (Monday-Friday). If I anticipate a problem with this, I will announce it in class or post an announcement or send an email through Canvas.
I will make every effort to grade assignments and provide feedback within 10 business days of the due date.
I won't be perfect. I am human, which means I make mistakes like everyone else. I will endeavor to correct my mistakes and in no way penalize students for mistakes that I make.
