Our experience in the space apps challenge was inspiring as we work with different experts both in situ and through discord, having the possibility to resolve different concerns about our challenge. we could also describe this experience as a view to the future in which phelhaps some of us could find ourselves in a few years.
We learned to work as a team, to take advantage of the qualities and skills that each of the members of the group has and to develop creative abilities while pursuing a goal.
We are motivated by the fact of being able to share with new colleagues and together with them explore other ways of thinking. It comforts us to think that with this challenge we can project a vision as a human species of inhabiting another planet; without losing sight of the fact that our planet is our home and therefore our priority. We are passionate about researching, proposing ideas and above all learning.
We were inspired to feel that we are part of a big program such as "nasa space app challenge", enjoy the process, have fun and win.
The focus is printing pieces that can be interconnected to create larger ones.
We would say that the approach is from the particular to the general, taking as particular the creation of universal blocks such as; furniture, tools and a wheel for the Rover. Another approach is for each astronaut to have their own tools and be more comfortable moving them around.
A setback was the delay we had with the 3D printer, since we printed a design which had certain errors that were corrected so that these pieces were printed again, taking into account that the correction and the new printing took a process of hours. Another setback was learning to be able to use different programs such as freecad and knowing how to create a web page, which were solved with the help of YouTube videos and accessories by the teachers who were helping us during those two days.
As a team, we want to thank God first for allowing us to participate in this space apps challenge, teacher Daniel Fernández who has been our guide and mentor during this challenge, and all the teachers who accompanied us during those two days solving our doubts. Thank the Francisco de Paula Santander educational institution for allowing us to work in its facilities for the preparation of the challenge and last but not least thank the teacher fredy Africano for supporting us and motivating us to participate in the NASA space apps challenge.
