ANR INEXTREMIS

Welcome!

This is the webpage of the 'INEXTREMIS' project, funded by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (JCJC funding instrument), and hosted by the UMI SOURCE & the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement. The project runs from 06/2024 to 12/2027.

The aim of this project is to investigate the fate of social cohesion in regions under hydric stress.

The core research team is composed of Dr. Guillaume Dezecache (Principal Investigator) and Dr. Natalia Doloisio (Researcher), working closely with Mr. Quentin Borredon (Research Intern), Ms. Antsamalala Andrianantenaina (Research Intern) and Ms. Manon Lasfargue (Research Intern), in interaction with a group of Experts.

Project development:

8-April-2025 to 23-April-2025: Prospective field mission to Morocco (Tinghir and Midelt provinces). A report of the mission (uploaded on 22-July-2025) can be found here.

2-April-2025: We had our "kick-off" meeting. The recording can be accessed here.

1-April-2025: Ms. Antsamalala Andrianantenaina joined the project as a as a Research Intern.

11-March-2025: A Zotero public library for the project is available here. It contains useful bibliographical ressources on research related to water stress and social cohesion.

1-February-2025: Dr. Natalia Dolosio joined the project as a Researcher.

20-January-2025: Ms. Manon Lasfargue joined the project as a Research Intern, with designing a carbon footprint simulator as her main task.

6-December-2024: We opened a media gallery on IRD Multimedia dedicated to our project.

11-November-2024 to 30-November-2024: Prospective field mission to Senegal (Sine-Saloum, Niayes & Casamance regions). A report of the mission (uploaded on 20-December-2024) can be found here.

10-October-2024: Mr. Quentin Borredon joined the project as a Research Intern.

1-June-2024: New official start date of our project, with the UMI SOURCE & the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement as new hosts.

Between July-2022 & June-2024: Our project was on hold due to administrative delays (mainly due to institutional changes).

8-July-2022: Our project was officially approved by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (JCJC funding instrument), with the LAPSCO UCA CNRS and the Université Clermont Auvergne as hosts. See the project (v1, v2), as submitted and approved by the funding agency.
