History Clear (Chromebook Only!)

Make sure you have a sync passphrase set up! (tutorial on how to do that here)

Press escape, reload, and power. You will see a recovery screen. When on this screen, press control d, and press enter. When your chromebook turns back on, there are two possibilities:

If your chromebook just reboots normally, then you are in developer mode! You can use linux tools and much more. Your school has not blocked it, and your data and search history have also been cleared!

If you get a screen saying that OS Verification is OFF and you need to turn it back on, your school has disabled developer mode and you can't use linux tools. To get back, press enter, and then wait for it to reboot. Go through chromebook setup, and your chromebookhas been reset, but you will likely still have it be managed by an admin!
