Dr. Anosh Ahmed is a remarkable example of how determination, compassion, and visionary leadership can reshape lives and communities. A Pakistani-American physician, investor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Dr. Ahmed’s inspiring journey from humble beginnings to global influence is a testament to what hard work and purpose can achieve.
In this exclusive interview, we dive into the life, struggles, and milestones of Anosh Ahmed, exploring how he continues to impact lives through healthcare, business innovation, and charitable work.
Anosh Ahmed: Thank you for the opportunity. My journey began when my family migrated to the United States from Pakistan. I was only 7 years old then. Like many immigrants, we faced financial difficulties. I started working at the age of 13 to help support my family.
Education became my path forward. I earned a degree in Organizational Leadership from South Texas College. Later, I pursued an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Texas and received my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Windsor University School of Medicine. Every step was filled with struggle, but it helped shape who I am today.
Anosh Ahmed: It all started when my father had a stroke. Caring for him sparked my passion for healthcare. After becoming a physician, I focused on delivering compassionate, quality care. That passion helped me gain recognition quickly.
I was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Loretto Hospital in Chicago. During my time there, I helped transform it into a top-tier teaching medical center, growing its revenue from $60 million to $100 million in just over two years.
Additionally, I founded Heart of Health Clinics, a nonprofit organization delivering essential healthcare services to underserved and uninsured communities, including refugees.
Anosh Ahmed: Pakistan’s healthcare system faces major challenges: corruption, insufficient funding, poor infrastructure, and a lack of qualified staff, especially in rural areas. Many hospitals suffer from staff shortages and a lack of equipment. High import costs and inadequate local manufacturing worsen the situation.
To fix this, we must:
Encourage domestic production of medical supplies
Increase funding for medical research and education
Introduce public health insurance to make healthcare more affordable
Raise awareness about preventive care
Enforce strong anti-corruption measures
Build international partnerships for knowledge-sharing and support
Anosh Ahmed: My father’s illness opened my eyes to healthcare inequalities. I wanted to create a real impact, beyond medicine. That’s when my journey into business and philanthropy began.
I started Anosh Inc Foundation, which now invests in healthcare, telehealth, education, and social development. It’s not just about charity—it's about building sustainable systems that uplift entire communities.
Anosh Ahmed: While I don’t have an active project in Pakistan at the moment, I’m continuously exploring opportunities. My goal is to support innovation, local manufacturing, and job creation. These efforts can attract foreign investment and strengthen Pakistan’s economic base.
I’m particularly interested in ventures that promote entrepreneurship, renewable energy, and technology—areas with the potential to bring lasting change.
Q: You're involved in commodity trading. What do you see in its future?
Anosh Ahmed: The future of commodity trading is being reshaped by technology, sustainability, and global politics. Innovations like AI, blockchain, and big data are revolutionizing how we trade and predict markets.
We’re seeing a rise in demand for green commodities, like renewable energy and carbon credits. ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) standards will become a bigger factor in market behavior. Also, crypto assets and decentralized trading platforms are opening up new opportunities. It’s a fast-evolving, tech-driven industry.
Anosh Ahmed: One of my long-term goals is to deepen the relationship between the United States and Pakistan through education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship.
We’re planning student exchange programs and partnerships between universities. I believe academic and business collaboration can bridge gaps and open up shared growth opportunities. By encouraging U.S. investment in Pakistan, especially in healthcare and tech, we can strengthen bilateral ties.
Anosh Ahmed: For me, success isn’t about wealth or fame—it’s about impact. My three core principles are:
Hard work
Perseverance
Compassion
It’s important to lead with empathy. If you genuinely care about the community, success will follow. I also believe failure is a stepping stone—each setback teaches us something vital. True success means improving lives beyond your own.
Q: What inspired you to create the Anosh Inc Foundation and what are its main focus areas?
