Particle Landscapes is an exploration of magical realism through abstract generative landscapes. By harnessing particle simulations and fluid dynamics, I create visuals that feel both fantastical and deeply emotive.
Mary Kate “MK” Skitka is a creative technologist, educator, and generative artist based in Brooklyn. She began her career as a software engineer, working on a wide range of AI research projects. Now, she leverages her technical expertise to transform spaces with generative visuals and emerging technology.
MK holds an MPS from NYU Tisch’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP, 2023) and a BS in Computer Science and Cognitive Brain Science from Tufts University (2018). She currently teaches creative technology at ITP, NYU where she also served as a research resident from 2023 to 2024.
Her work spans interactive installations, generative visuals, experimental websites, wearable programmable devices, and performance. She has exhibited development and design work at The Shed NYC, the Venice Biennale ‘24, and the Clive Davis Institute.
